Can anyone explain what is required in regards to a medical examininization and immmuniztion records when an I-485 application is being processed for an applicant who is here on a k-1 visa. My fiance does not have any records with her in regards to vaccination records as they were not required with the K-1 medical examination. It now appears that vaccination records are required as part of the I-485 process.

Medical exam and shot records are good for two years, beyond that, she will have to do them over again.

There was a flurry of RFE's concerning this subject a few months ago, apparently due to inexperienced reviewers at the NBC (shortly after they took over processing all of the I-485's.)  The current consensus seems to be as follows:

1.  If your wife's vaccinations were complete, all she need do is furnish a copy of the panel doc's signed DS3025.

2.  If she still needs some vaccinations, then unfortunately you will need to get an American civil surgeon to give her the missing ones and complete a I-693.

3.  If you have nothing, you made a big mistake, and will need to have an American civil surgeon verify/complete all her immunizations and give you a I-693.  This might be expensive unless you can find a doc who won't insist on a medical exam in addition.

No, jb: the medical is good until her AOS interview whether that be 3 months or 3 years.

Interestingly, no one has ever asked for either my wife's or my son's immunization record (except for my son's elementary school).  And both now hold a Conditional Resident Alien Card.  Others processed through VSC the same time as they were have had mixed results -- some have needed to get records and vaccinations, others have not.

Seems this is an area the USCIS doesn't have their s..., uh..., stuff together... :?
