K-1 Status update

I just received word that my K-1 package was approved by the CA service center yesterday. It was filed on Jan 7, resubmitted on March 10 because I forgot the filing fee ( in a hurry to catch my flight to Fiji), but still given the Jan filing date. So they are down to 6 months between NOA-1 and NOA-2.  My understanding is now the package goes to NVC for about 3-4 weeks, then to the embassy. My question for the board is was this the biggest hurdle? What problems can I try to anticipate with the NVC? I'm not too worried about the interview since we have spent a total of 10 weeks together (2 x 3 weeks in Russia, 2 weeks in Fiji, and 2 weeks last month in England). That is probably more time with her than I spent with the last AW I dated in our first 6 months. Also, how does the interview process work? I know the embassy will contact my fiancee, but will I be contacted for an interview? And when? Before or after her interview?

Your case will proceed very quickly now. The petition will be sent to the NVC probably tomorrow as they send a crate from California once a week.  My NOA2 was approved on Monday June 2nd and left California on Friday June 6th.

Your petition will stay at the NVC for about 3 days and then it will be shipped to the Embassy.  She can then schedule an appointment at the Embassy for an interview.  You should go to Visajourney website and click on the reveiws from individuals that have gone through interviews at the Embassy in Russa.  No, you will not be contacted for an interview.

I agree with everything except the underlined sentence.   Your fiancee can not schedule the interview.  Upon receiving the petition from NVC, the Embassy sets the schedule, usually about 60 days in advance.

You can learn of the interview date in three ways:

1.  Study the Embassy's online Immigrant Visa Appointment Schedule:

2.  Await the receipt of the package that the Embassy will mail to the fiancee.

3.  If you still do not know after a couple of weeks from the NVC forwarding, call the embassy with your petition identification numbers.  You will have to pay a fee via credit card for the call.
