Interpreters
« on: July 30, 2008, 03:45:27 PM »
I only want to know which is the average price for an interpreter in Odessa and in Kiew? how much for an hour and for 1 day?  how much did you pay for this service?

It depends on a number of things.
1. Expertise and Experience: You can get a girl from the University, with little
or no experience who will understand much of your conversation correctly but not all.
She would be much less costly than for Example Anastassia Ash (AA) who lives in the US
for years, has extensive training and enough certifications to wall paper a small room.

2. Location and travel: The local college girl from Odessa will be less expensive than Stirlitz who
lives in Odessa and has years of experience and many business, oil related and engineering related
translation certifications. I think if you wanted AA to take a business trip to Odessa then the check
you would have to write might finance the war on Terror for a couple of days.

3. Hours involved and time involved. If you only want an hour or two the hourly rate will be higher than if you
wanted 8 hours a day for several days. Can
the person translate via 3 way phone call? or must be in person. Is the meeting close to the translator? is it during the
day or the late hours at night?

4. Purpose of translation: If you are negotiating a pipeline across the country, or a marriage proposal to your love I would recommend more of an expert than if you needed them to simply show you around the town and read the signs in a Museum or order food for you in a restaurant.

Personally I value having an experienced, qualified, reliable translator and although prices vary is this the best place to
save money? I know others who will tell you that the lowest price translator is just as good but I wouldn't believe it if
I were you.

You can pm Stirlitz or AA here or send me a PM and I will give you the information.

Udachi!! (good luck),

Bill

Wolf we have clients weekly who use interpreters in both Kiev and Odessa. Good, professional interpreters. The hourly rate in both Kiev and Odessa is $12 an hour.  Daily rates will vary but most are about $75, a few will be up to $85.

University girls who are quite good in English and excited to be able to use their English skills and make a little money we can get at $9-10 an hour.

If you get quotes much higher than these prices feel free to pm me.

If you need an interpreter to do a proposal of marriage, you are doing something wrong.
Use an interpreter to translate the first contacts, then make efforts towards communicating in the same language.

Do not mix the function of the interpreter with the function of relationship guide.

Thanks for your help   :) . I am going  to spend my holidays there and try to get some date there to see how it works; It is not my idea  using an interpreter but if the occasion arise I want to have a clear idea of  which are the prices; I know that is different but it is like knowing how much it cost a 20 min tour in a taxi.

I've noticed that none of the Russian translators/interpreters on this site are based out of Russia.. How come?. Is the dating business slow in Russia or is there some other reason for that?.  :-\ And just out of curiosity, what do you do when you can't locate a translator in the region you're going to, do you bring one along?.

Maybe because 'clients' are following paths of least resistance.  Supply/demand type thing.

After all, I would think women in popular cities that know a foreign language would have no problem finding prospective partners or just someone interesting to hang around with.

I bet you can find a number of interpreters in any decent sized city in RU.  They may not be familiar with the MOB scene though.

Avoid carrying around extra luggage. Find a woman you can communicate with.

Doesn't explain the absence of translators/guides in the Russian dating industry.. Surely there are popular cities and foreign language speaking women in Ukraine, and yet there seems to be a guide in every major city.. :-\

Perhaps people in Ukraine found that being a guide is just as good as playing Fat Yuri.

what do you do when you can't locate a translator in the region you're going to,

I think if you have interest in a woman in a city in Russia and your not aware of an interpreter who can help you in that city, just ask for help here.  I think their will be someone who can provide you with contact information.

Absolutley 100% correct.   Their are already enough differences in culture, thousands of miles seperating you, communicating with someone you have interest in should not be a major obstacle.  In my opinion you already have two strikes against you when you cannot communicate with your woman directly. I know, I know, many of you found wifes that could not speak English and today you are happily married.  Consider yourself lucky. For everyone of you, their are a thousand not so lucky.

Their are and they do!!!
