What are the good agencies for renting flats from in Kiev?

If you find an apartment you like, remember to shop around by searching the addresses in Google.
http://www.rentkievapartments.com/Kiev-apartments.html offers the same apartments for 5 Euro per night less.

Just type an address in Google, and you will find a number of companies renting apartments.
For fun, ask the rental company for a commercial invoice.

ambach, this flat at Mikhailivska 4 is one of the flats we rent out. It is about a 30 second walk from my flat and I can see this flat if I look out my kitchen window. We rent this flat for $80 a night, usually $20-$25 a night less than the flat rental agencies.

Jack, I got it through interdating agency and since I am working with them it cost me about $80 per night.
According to them this was the best they had.

So I guess you top out in Kiev for $ 80 to $100 per night for a two room apartment.

Interesting to note that Ambach - who I believe has has yet to even visit Kiev, and was telling us how he was staying at a hotel - has now booked an apartment...

I wonder does it have a Concierge, just like "home".. ?

Interdating and UArent are not inexpensive; average Joe can do a lot better and much cheaper.

They have a niche market and provide services at a price. They provide very personal services including a person at the office who helps you out, from picking you up at the airport, managing your appointments, to leaving you off.

From what I read on this board on another thread, most responders stated that they spent very little on this pursuit; I assume that is the norm.

With regard to scammers there, they arrange for meetings in their offices; and as Jack has said elsewhere that only 15% of your first meetings would turn into second meetings; you can at least attempt to eliminate scammers early on.

However since it must be well known to the girls that their clients are well heeled,  it would attract women who want such.

Nonetheless, I am not depending upon them solely anyway.

Strange, that you seemed keen NOT to let the ladies know of your financial status before - as you told us on this very board...  As ever, consistency is not an ambach triat - other than "entertainment".

Please, folks - this poster has NO experience of the FSU, yet - other than Lithuania ... which as we all know has the least ethinic Russian population of any of the Baltic states that were part of the FSU.....

I rented this apartment http://www.uarent.com/apartments-en.php?id=1 from UA Rents a couple of years ago. 

The apartment itself was rather cute.  It was right up the hill from Independence Square and had an excellent location.  The high speed internet was the chief draw for me and when I was there the weather was around -25 so it was wonderful to not have to go out for the internet.  The computer at the time was limping a bit.

I had no real complaints with UA rents.  Minor ones were that the driver was very overpriced and did not show up until I had waited a hour and a half and was ready to take a cab.  The did send someone to fix the internet when needed so all in all I would consider them fine for apartment rentals.

I did not use their agency for meeting anyone so have no recommendations on that score but there are enough agencies in Kiev that there are options.   

I believe on the trips to Kiev following that one I used Jack for my apartment rentals.   His driver always showed up on time, the apartments were central and nice and my satisfaction level would be 100%.   None of the apartments through Jack had high speed internet but I would expect if that was a requirement that I had asked of him he could have arranged that.

I have rented apartments many times with uarent and never have issues - probably 30 days from them in past 3 years.  I have another company that is very good but catch is you have to have used there services to buy an apartment before.  But I get apartments that people have for sale as a test basis sometimes for as low as $20 a night for up to to 7 nights and were talking $600,000 apartments for sale.  But they do charge 3% on services for buying apartments so I guess I probably already pre paid for the apartment.

Turbo, was the driver a guy who could not speak English named "Dima" He is usually good on time but sometimes the agency has to many guys for girls or apartments arriving and new customers tend to get the shaft.  Dima is there normal driver. They are about 40 Ukraine to high each way for taxi to airport at 200 Ukraine.

Helen from the agency says that she would be there at the airport; that remains to be seen.
I bought a package deal from the agency, about 15 meetings at their offices, inclusive. I assume each meeting would last one to two hours. I believe their office is right next to the apartment.
The owner Alex has contacted me, offered his personal assistance, and his cell phone.

I am skeptical, but so far they have treated me very well. Always quick to respond, I have approved all the ladies they have scheduled, and so have the ladies approved me for a meeting.

If Jack's observation is correct, there would be two ladies with subsequent meetings out of the 15.

I go to Ukraine with a lot of horror stories as posted here. I hope my mission would be a pleasant one, just fact finding if nothing else.

He has NEVER been to Russia, the Ukraine or Kiev for that matter... and if you offer him advice he will soon know better than you - be warned....

I am arriving on September 12.

The package I bought cost a little over $1600 and it includes nine days apartment, about 15 meetings, cell phone, transportation and sight seeing etc.

Perhaps most important is their liason services included, I need English speaking people I can communicate with in a strange country.

A young lady can be blunt with them, which she may not be so to my face, and vice versa.

This is a flat charge, so they have no incentive to prolong this.

So far I am very happy with their planning and keeping me abreast of what they are doing.

People here complain constantly that Ukraine has poor services everywhere, we will see.
