I have Pavel's business card at home.  When I get there, I will private mail you his contact information.  However, the web site Olga provided should be good if my memory serves me right (not a safe bet right now!!!).
Thanks,

What is your experience with international travel?

Are you going WOVO or WMVM or WMVF?

What Ukrainian cities do you intend to visit?

Do you have an adventurous spirit, or are you risk-averse?

I have heard lots of good reports on Pavel and just one who was very unhappy but most who have used Pavel rave about him.  I attempted to use him on one trip but had to cancel that trip for health reasons.   In my experience he bent over backwards to help me with things that would have been very difficult to do any other way.

I had planned to use Pavel for an apartment and some travel arrangements and not so much as a guide or interperter (the woman I was meeting spoke good english).  I am not so sold on the idea that a "guide" is necessary as such.

I think what Gator was trying to say is that if you tell us more of what you are looking for and what you hope to accomplish by using Pavel we may be able to make some recommendations or suggestions.

Olga's info should let you contact him.  I do have his e-mail address burried somewhere if that doesn't work

I have heard lots of good reports on Pavel and just one who was very unhappy but most who have used Pavel rave about him.

- - - - -

One variable that you did not consider was how many months or years ago you and others used his services.  What frequently happens is that a helper starts out as a very good man or woman and then the services deteriorate over time.

In the beginning, they are just getting started and put forth good effort for the money charged.  But as they see that western guys are very generous and generally easy to please, the helpers start getting greedy with their charges and sloppy with their service rendered.

For instance, Stirlitz was once a good helper at a reasonable price.  But a stupid western man with more money than sense paid handsome fees to Stirlitz to accompany him to Russia.  The man even paid for Stirlitz's wife to go along on the trip.  Stirlitz then began to think that he was really worth all that ridiculous money and he became a very surly and expensive helper who provides poor service.

So generally, the best helpers are those that are just getting started.  Those who have gotten rave reviews in the past are usually not as good today.

I am a sex tourist who is driven by the hunt with no emotion or empathy and suffer from Satyriasis, Don Juan Syndrome and Madonna-Whore complex (but on alternating days) with confidence issues and many other issues. I suffer loneliness with no family, friends or money.  I have ED and orgasm problems

Well well well… I am sorry for providing poor service to you but could you please point out what was poor? (Could you have pointed it out when I was providing it?)

Though I cannot seem to remember any client coming from this board and nicknamed Pike. Actually.

As for that story, it really makes me worship you. What do you know about that trip and how it influenced the rest?

I DO love this board… you cannot find as many know-alls anywhere else… I consider this board as the ultimate source of information on any issues… I am looking forward to every word typed here…

By the way just FYI: I still AM a good provider which can confirm my clients I have had in 2008. Fortunately though they had not come from Internet message boards.

Personally, I have traveled the world, and have a very adventurous spirit.  I have climbed mountains in Costa Rica as lava poured and boulders thundered by me.

But in those days when I was dating girls who did not speak English, or when I wanted to travel to a remote village out of Kiev, I used Pavel as my terp.  This was after five solo trips to Russia and Ukraine.

He is excellent.  Very knowledgeable and very helpful on a trip, for a novice or a pro.  Much better than using an agency terp.  I highly recommend him.

His email address is:  yourukraineguide@ukr.net   His phone is +380672832468

p.s.   Last year, when my wife was in a terrible accident in Ukraine, Pavel came to her rescue. He has a heart of gold.  I'm sure glad we knew him.

How heartening a series of references.  It is so easy to find negative things in any service industry that positive anecdotes and referrals are multiplied in value.

Best of luck on your trip!

I'll add my $0.02 and give my complete endorsement for using Pavel's services. He does have a heart of gold, as a previous poster has stated.  He is also a very competent guide and interpreter - or can just hook you up with a reasonable flat when you are in Kiev.  I would really like to see him again someday.
