Just a "simple" question.....What attributes/qualities/idiosyncrasies have you found to be the most endearing and maybe the most confounding in your best/favorite/most memorable R/U gf/wife?????????
   

Well, maybe not just 25 words or less.....I'm reflecting back on my recent New Years/Christmas trip to Kiev in which a promising time turned into a slow train wreck.    Oh, I'm bouncing back....well enough...but analyzing the wreckage in the aftermath.   Wounded....yes!!!   But a sudden...and unexpected... communication with another RW has me wanting to reach another level of understanding for the future as well as an attempt to learn from my recent spill.   My listening ears and eyes await your knowledge.

I have not been following your trip report or reading this board very often lately. My wife and I have been very busy pursuing our New Years' resolutions, our common goals and the American dreams. So, I am not sure how your recent relationship has been evolving of late or what happened during your recent trip to Kiev.  But, I wanted to let you know that the most important, non-negotiable and endearing personal qualities that I was looking for - and found - in my Russian wife include her charater and intelligence, sincerity and trustworthiness, and kindness and devotion.  People say that I am very lucky to have found her without agencies involvement as she is also an attractive, single, modest, and good woman whose parents are happily married, who is very close to her families, relatives and good friends, and who speaks English and German.

Ulysses, learn and master the Russian language and you will go far...

  The shared ability to laugh together. It enhances all the other qualities that Erwin listed above.

What have you found to be the most confounding?

  She's usually right. It's not a case of my being whipped, but honestly recognizing that
her opinion not only matters, it's bankable. I've learned to take her very seriously, and
that was significant personal growth for me. It was very confounding in Year One.

Thanks E for your thoughts......I'm working on the language barrier, but what a hurdle!!!   I could see her mind working and working on converting her thoughts into English, but I could only assist so much.  Some mis-understandings soon grew....those mole-hill into mountains, so to speak.  I just couldn't move any faster
    And Vaughn......thanks also......I don't have some large ego issues, but recognize a  few spots where I failed in that regard.

I'm not sure why your thread didn't get more responses... it's a good and valid question.

When I met my wife I knew I'd found someone very special.  As our relationship evolved this realisation was confirmed several times over.  Since marriage, and now that she has well and truly settled in I can give you a hint at what you'll find within a woman like my wife, if you should be very lucky in finding a gem.

She is most definitely beautiful, a little shy, charismatic and very cheeky.  She has a great sense of humour and a quick wit, and time and again she shows a very loving and caring side.  Underneath all of this I can assure you she is as tough as nails... and she is thoroughly unforgiving of anyone that crosses us.  She is however forgiving of me when I err from time to time (just small stuff), and has a very sweet way of saying, "You are boss, but you should listen to your wife more often."        As Vaughn said,  his wife (it seems like mine) has very good judgement and decision making skills.  Finally, she has very simple needs,  but she adores being pampered and little luxuries.

Oops... way more than 25 words...  ummmm... maybe that scared everyone else off too?   

Seriously though... It sounds like the bug has bitten.  Be patient... be sure what (or who) you are looking for and why.  Be realistic and be prepared to work your a$$ off to cement the relationship you desire... and when you've done all of those things wish for a healthy dose of luck and then, I am sure you will be successful.

      Thanks for the words......and more.  I've enjoyed your comments over the months...Was struck by the "totally unforgiving" part of your comment and can well remember my experience with that!!!!  And the toughness too.
