Some news
« on: March 05, 2009, 04:46:00 PM »
Hello,

Long  time since last post but many things happened since...
My wife learned that she has lost her job when she traveled back from her last travel in January. Crisis in Ukraine seems to be worst and worst..
In Canada, end of january, my boss called to tell me that budget were slashed and they will let go consultant... I had only 4 weeks of work ahead of me. All companies were I could work were issuing PR to say that they were cutting thousands of people and all jobs hiring were frozen...

My wife called me a few day before Valentine day to ask me if I want that she try for an another tourist visa for Canada, my answer was yes of course ! I rushed to send her documents, she went to embassy and get her visa. We were together in Canada on February 12th...

I get some news from potential jobs, but two day after one offer, I get a call telling me that the position was cancelled...

Finally I was able to find a 3 months contract..better than nothing.

At the same time, our life together in stressed time have shown that we can go trough the storm together, that we are more solid when we are close to each other.

Our only point where we do not agree is about definition of cleaning... Coming in a life of a single man with 3 children is not easy and I must admit I have took some bad habits....

During this time, I had other interviews.

Today I give a call to cancel my 3 months contract. I will not go to work there. Why ?
I get another call... one permanent position for one of the few really secure job still existing.
The place were I was working as consultant is offering me a permanent position with a list of advantages that I can not describe by decency.
yesterday, my wife learned that she will be able to work as pharmacist relatively easily here too.

We are going to open a bottle of Margaud this evening and celebrate this..

My wife is here, she will leave perhaps in a few days to go back to Ukraine but we both know it will be for a short time before her permanent visa.

Horizon is well defined in our life.

Benoit, Mon Ami!!! It is good to see you here again and please fill my flute with a serving of Margaud :)
Sveta says hi and thanks for everything... to both you and Anna :) We will definitely meet in Montreal one day since that is my birthplace and where I lived till I was 20. Sveta most definitely wants to see all of Canada and that includes La Belle Provence, Quebec!!

Great News!  I was hoping you would get some.  I agree tough times tell you a lot.  I am glad that they are better times now.

Anna is back to Kiev since yesterday. She must fly back, her son was staying with his Babushka, while his grand father was staying at home with his mother in law ...The whole family is helping us...

I went with my eldest daughter to the airport and we were all very emotional. We hope to get all papers done within 4 months now.

Anna told me something before leaving .. she felt as visitor to fly back to Ukraine. Her life is now in Canada.

With my new work, I will not be able to travel during a few months, she will try to get a multi entry visa during the time of the procedure.
