First days on russian dating sites

freepersonals.ru: already have about 13 women in correspondence. One of them I saw listed on Elena's Models. Same photo. I know...beware of scammers and those not willing to follow-thru.

elena's models: The exterior beauty of the women the site advertises all over the net as available isn't the norm. After running thru the gallery it seems half are good looking, the other half not so. The site gave me free 20 expressions to use. Some responded within minutes. Maybe it's the fact at this time of day it's the time of night in FSU for women to search. (my criteria isn't only exterior beauty)

anastasia-international: 17 women send me interest with 48 hours of joining. One of them is 19 and a smoking hottie - indeed if she were with me walking downtown that heads would turn. I have a suspicion about this company since why would a 19 yr old "10" want to date a decent-looking 43 man?

How does this compare to your experience? Advice?

Anastasiaweb is not reputable.  You are more likely to be corresponding with an agency employee than the lady with the profile.  You will get a lot of canned intro letters if your profile stays active.

Expect a mix of real and scammers on freepersonals. Not a problem by reading the letters you will soon understand the difference.
Anastasiaweb you might find a real woman. If you do, buy a lottery ticket.
Elena's will have the highest score of real women. Not necessarily the top score in your interest.

Elenas is the only website which I really have in depth experience.  I have traveled to meet four very nice and pretty ladies from there.  The"quality" of ladies is as varied as the spectrum really.  There are the status queens, the gold diggers, the pro-daters, etc., but a high number of sincere ladies searching for a partner. 

Elenas is more user friendly to a WMVO or WMV2-3 type of approach because the ladies you find whom you like/have real interest will be scattered all over the place.  Don't be in a hurry.  Each lady that I went to meet (with one exception), I found after a couple of months, writing letters to a ton of different ladies, and many hours speaking on the phone with many different ladies.  If you're serious about it, you'll definitely rack up some phone bills narrowing down to ladies with real mutual interest, a very good chance of fitting together, etc., 

I would also suggest using ICQ.  Use the search feature to target whatever city and then just say "hello". Don't be shy and you'll be surprised how many will want to chat with you.  Of course, not all of them will be looking for a partner, but they all have friends who have friends.    I would say ICQ is just about the best way in the world to get your feet wet in the communication process.

If you prefer to meet many ladies, the only logistically sound way to do it is to join a reputable agency (anastassia-web isn't one of them) or two in a larger city and just go and meet them.  With this approach, if it were me, I would not waste much time with letters and such prior to traveling. I would just go and view profiles at the agency, line up a couple of meetings, and get underway.  This approach is more about seeing first, finding decent chemistry, and going from there on followup visits.

I use Elenas Models with about the same results as everyone else states. I am also on freepersonals but not long enought to make any judgements. I have had the best results thus far from Scanna. Met my share of scammers. You will learn to pick them out, they are madly in love with you after four letters, etc.

I use ICQ but Skype is better in my opinion. I chat with a couple ladies pretty consistantly on Skype and it is a really good way to get to know someone without the phone bills. I use a phone card with no expiration date to call, much cheaper that way. Don't call much yet, just once or twice.

I am buying a ticket this week for the end of April, who wants to go? The prices right now are outrageously cheap!

You must first decide if you wish to work with a local agency who will handle everything, including leasing an apartment and arranging meetings.  Or do you wish to handle everything yourself  (if you make it a VO trip, or a VO per city), your RW will happily serve as your guide.

The former is Lifetime Partners, Cindy Agency and others.  The latter is EM and AI and Freepersonals (and Bride.ru and other large multinational listing agencies). 

EM has it beauties, yet most of its women are 8 or below in appearance, which is still far better than the American dating pool for most AM.  AI has better looking women, yet it will cost you far more to write and phone them, and all of this is filtered thru interpreters. Based on all I have read and heard, the following will happen with AI:

40% of the RW will never be available to meet you, using one excuse after another after you have spent a lot of money corresponding with her (or more likely the interpreter assigned to her photo).

50% will meet you, yet not for long and will expect to be wined and dined (and maybe French perfume or new Italian shoes).

10% will sincerely give you as much time as you have available.

In contrast, with EM you correspond directly with RW and you can easily evaluate their sincere interest in you. EM women receive a lot of attention because of their reputation, so you may not feel like a king, which you are NOT, being that your name says you are a theologian/philosopher (or tiger and young boy).

I used EM and Angelica, and I would never recommend AI or AFA.  With large listing agencies, you will find yourself talking with women over 7 time zones, an impossible trip.  So quickly focus on one or two regions or you will be wasting your time and her time.

CH, Gator has a great point, " to focus on one or two regions"  My advice would be to pick one city and the surrounding area. The smaller agency's can provide more details about the ladies, if you just ask for their advice.

you forgot the percent of those who are no longer looking yet their profile is still in the agency data bank. I have one friend whose photo and bio has been posted for over 8 years now. Since it was posted, she was looking at the time, she has married, arrived in the USA, and is now divorced. Yet she can still be found on the agency site. Eight year old photo and all.

I you know Russian, you can use the mamba.ru site. Also, though it is not a dating site per se, you can also use networking sites such as vkontakte.ru (which has an English interface) to meet women.

I'm using freepersonals.ru(OK), bride.ru(good), and Elenasmodels (good).

I've run into the most scammers on free personals but they are identified and removed fairly regularly.

Beware of two things starting out,

1. Too much, too soon.

2. Two (usually), or more, unsolicited "glam"-type pics with every email.


These are the trademarks of most scammers. Oh, and I've heard bad things about anastasia. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

even though I didn't have much luck with elenas. I can tell you what I like about it.. the women look and act real.  Unlike the glam sites which only take the hot girls.. if you get to used to looking at AI and sites like it you could end up thinking EVERY woman in the FSU is gorgeous.  Well, guess what.. not all of them are!  There are plain women, ugly women, very short women, very tall women, very fat women and every other variation.. it seems to me that if  site is excluding certain women purely because they are not "beautiful" it would indicate they have some other interest than helping people meet and get married.
