First thanks to everyone that will give me some advice on this situation.

Ok, been chatting with this russian woman for a month now, now she is planning a trip over to USA. She said she will take half and I should help her with the rest. I've read some stuff on here not to pay money, but half doesn't sound too bad. I know I am in over my head hook up too soon and stuff. I met her on an american dating site. Have not talked on the phone because she has no mean of communication by it. We send pictures back and forth and chatted. How much would it cost to have all the paperwork and travel from russia to USA? I need some input before I reply back to her.

Any help would be nice for this novice. Thanks

It's your choice & money, however I would not recommend it. Here is how the situation will play out;

You send her half and either something else will come up (sick relative, car accident etc...) or she will stop writing to you all together-this is 99.9% a scam. A Russian woman that does not have a cell is extremely rare and I've never seen it.

If it makes you feel better, tell her that you will give her half of the airfare when she actually visits you in the U.S (if that is where you are at). As far as a single woman getting a tourist visa to the United States-you would have a better chance hitting the powerball lottery.

After six trips to the FSU I have yet to meet a man or woman that doesnt have a phone. In fact I dont think it even exists. The FSU is not in the dark ages.
You are going to get scammed. In reality you are communicating with a man. Thats why there is no phone contact. The deep voice might be a dead giveaway.
Let me guess, she is drop dead gorgeous and has an ass to die for.
Did she tell you she has a friend that can get her a visa?
This is the oldest scam there is, dont fall for it.

Tell her to send you her half via WU and then you will buy her an e-ticket.

Result should be interesting one way or t'other.

I have to agree here.. this is a scam set up for sure.

have you seen her on cam?

How is it she has access to the internet but doesn't have a phone? Come on now..

Don't feel bad about it though.. its happened to a lot of us...

I do not advise playing any games with her though.. if you do you will end up being on a scammers mailing list and your inbox will fill up with every scam/spam known to exist

Finding this site and asking that question has just saved you a ton of wasted money and the embarassment of standing in the airport with a bouquet of flowers waiting hopelessly for someone to arrive who probably doesn't evern exist other than in the mind of Fat Yuri sitting at his computer and in the stolen photos used to lure you in,

This is not just 99.9% chance of a scam, it is 100% classic one of the oldest in the book scam. If you have any doubts at all or want to cling to the fantasy and cough up some money just for that 0.001% chance that it might possibly be true, there are many ways to verify "her" status that members here can help you with, such as searching scammer sites or googling in her name and city or portions of her letters to find a match.

If you want to provide some information on her, we can do it for you.

I think the Curious is already in love with her picture and I doubt he will come back and post. No one here told him half was a good deal. Our responses were not what he wanted to hear.

Sup community, I'm back with update of my current situation.

So, after being convinced by the community that I was part of a scam, I decided not to be serious and moving on. But before moving on, I still want to play this out with this person on the other side, I just want to see how much farther I can drag this out for my own amusement. Ok enough of that, next I need some help with some background check on this person: name Yuliya, email yuliyar83@yahoo.com, live in Cheboksary, Russia. I've included a picture of her. Any other information on this person will be helpful. I'm assuming she is not real, but I don't know for sure that is why I'm asking the pros for help.

Any good genuine russian dating site that you guys would recommend? I want to hop on this foreign dating train, it might lead to somewhere good. Is elenasmodels.com a good site?

I found EM to be fine as long as you are prepared to do the groundwork and not rush into anything.

Move quickly to direct contact via email and some sort of voice (Skype, phone, AIM, etc.).

Make it clear you will schedule a trip to see her as soon as the relationship reaches that point and her coming to visit you isn't on the list of possibilities.

If she finds that acceptable and you are in direct contact without agency services like email or translations, you should be able to develop a short list.

I, as in many earlier threads before this one contend "playing" it out is not a good idea. It serves no purpose. It is a waste of your time and it doesn't affect the scammer because apparently you are not sending money anyway. They don't read your letters/emails and they don't give one rats azz that you found them out. Once they figure out you won't send them money they'll quit sending you those pretty pictures.

I used EM and had fantastic results. I was amazed at the response from real women.

Cheboksary is a known hot-bed for scammers. She/He IS a scammer. If you send money after she/he doesn't arrive you'll get an email saying "I was robbed at the airport." Go to romancescam.com, get an education and "NEVER SEND MONEY"

Ah yeah, and don't waste your time with scammers. Life's too short...

www.freepersonals.ru is a good site. When I was looking, I found a lot of the women listed on elenasmodels were also listed at freepersonals, and you can contact them for free.

is it just me, or it seems the girl from the photo doesn't look russian at all.. but that's just my impression

if somebody doesn't have phone (haven't heard of anyone who doesn't, but maybe she just doesn't wanna share the number with a stranger?), you can always talk with voice, like on the phone, through the net, using skype or msn.

Judging from the t-shirt she is wearing it is a picture of a porn star. If you continue long enough you will get nude ones

Cheboksary is one of the places where the 'professional' scammers reside. That means you are most probably writing to a man.

That girl looks familiar. This is a scam my friend. Use Elenas models or cuteonly although I am sure there are more scammers there. But then again it could be a low percentage. I wish you luck! Its worth it in the end. When you meet the right girl you will be in total paradise, I have been there before...
