Did anyone watch the first episode of the Apprentice? Taped last summer in NY. One of the contestants is a RW, immigrated to US, became a millionaire. It should be interesting to see how she preforms in the comming weeks. Also both interesting and incouraging to know that a smart, attractive (she's a blonde even), immigrant can not only arrive in the US but can make herself into a millionaire and then compete for a prestigious job as the head of one of papa Trump's companies.

I gues you are speaking about "Alla," whom I am not sure where she is from in the FSU.  I expect her to lose because the competition is tough.  There are some attractive women on this season, but they have been more attractive on season two. Quite impressive when women immigrants could hustle their way into millionaire status - though we have not really heard how she has done it.

hey, Bruce, I see Brooklyn as your home. I spent a few mements there this past summer. Back and forth across that bridge. And i thought they had sold it. I know that I have been offered many times to buy the Brookly bridge.

We have  a  large population of Asian especailly Vietnamese here in my city on the West coast. Many have establihed themselves and turned their hard work into businesses and profits. The Russian and other FSU immigrants have settled in large numbers in my community, 7 Ukraine work in my company alone. Regarding Alla, it is impressive when anyone can hustle themselves into millionair status, much less a woman, much less an immigrant.

That's the London Bridge.  They did sell it, and it's in Arizona now...really

A popular tourist attraction in Lake Havasu City is London Bridge which crosses a canal that leads from Lake Havasu (on the Colorado River) to Thompson Bay. It was purchased from the city of London when the bridge was being replaced in 1968 for 2.5 million dollars. The bridge was disassembled, the stones marked, shipped to Lake Havasu City, and reassembled for another 7 million dollars. It opened again in October 1971. It has been claimed that it was purchased in the mistaken belief that it was the more grandiose Tower Bridge.

You might have trouble filling your hotel Kremlin. As you know the Rossyia is right across the street. Last I heard it was the largest hotel in the world. With that handle  should be added the "the most ineffecient" hotel in the world. the rate is decent for the location but one almost needs a golf cart to get from one's room to the lobby.

My wife still laughs about the time we drove through Moscow, VT (a small village next to Stowe, where alpine skiing began in the eastern US).  An old town meeting hall (one a church) and a general store located where two roads meet.

Just a bit smaller than the one in Russia.

That is a little bigger than Moscow, MI where there is only the general store.  It is in the Irish Hills near Michigan International Speedway.

Well, Alla did pretty well last night.  One of the guys was eliminated.  Alla made her dollars in the salon business.  I do not expect her to win.   I figure it will be a guy who wins this season.

The first three winners were men. the four was a woman and rather than give her the head of a company, as were the men, she was given the job of renovating a mansion. It says something about who Donald is willing to give up control of one of his companies to.

Alla will do ok. I bet she makes it to the final 4. She is one of those who travel under the radar. She is not getting into anyone's face early on. you say she made her million in the salon business?

Alla has been outed as a former Vegas stripper, which makes for an interesting Apprentice candidate. Don't get me wrong. After all, I am a former prosecutor and a current member of the criminal defense bar. I hold a special place in my heart for those engaged in the, um, performing arts. Well, Alla did alot better than I thought she would.  She made it to the final four but was "fired" along with the girl she worked with on her task yesterday.  I expect Randal to win.
