Tell us something about your background. Russian or Ukrainian? How long have you lived in Dallas? Do you have a website? I've never needed an interpreter but some men who do would probably ask you for your personal opinion if the lady he's calling is enthusiastic about him or not. Are you good at reading people's feelings or do you keep it strickly business and just interpret what is said?

Participate at the forum occasionally and you may gain the respect of some, generate more business and you might even get a few dates.

Hi, Billy   Thank you for the warm welcome Originally I am from S-Petersburg (Russia). In 1998 I met my husband by brousing Internet. In 2000 we got married in Russia,  four month later I came to America. In 2001 we gave  birth to our first and only daughter. I am working as on-line interpreter, going to school to get my BS degree (accounting), writing book and homeschooling my daughter. Regarding your questions, I do not have website yet and I still working on my English grammar.   Sometimes people have very good knowledge in languages, but not good in interpretation  I know I can do a good job, clients of the company I am working for, want to use my services. I am good at reading people's feelings and I am not going to ask you pay if you have some questions or need some advice. I would like to consider myself as a friend to my clients. Inna, you sound  and look nice. I think your  intentions are sincere and honest.

I hope, you got my message/ suggestion that mentioning God's  name  amongst business rates sounds.... inappropriate. You are  Russian , and, I am sure, know that in Russia you would hardly ever do it in a similar context. 

Seems, you admitted  they have  nothing to do with each other.

Actually, I think Inna would be a very good choice for those who need her services : in a way, she will be practicing her English and helping people at the same time.

I personally am not the type to use the concept of god to present myself to others.  My version might be odd to the rest of you.    And I do not look down on others that have belief even if it is different than mine.  But some advice on just a business level... it is fine to have faith, but yours might not match the people you are trying to reach.  So of course state it in the appropriate places when your web site is up and running.  But I would use it less in my general search for information.  It is not a bad thing, but it might "put off" some people and taint their replies with prejudice against a few words, not the meaning you are trying to convey.  Just my little bit of advice.

OK well about interpretation matters, sometimes in English we use certain words with a tone of endearment, which normally don't have such endearing roots. Like for example, if man and wife are in a playfull mood and someone were to say "you stinker". If you are not familiar with the nuance of the use, it can easily be missinterpreted. Have you noticed this?

I know word stinker sounds pretty innocent and funny in English, but I wouldn't TRANSLATE it, I would interpret it.  Translation word to word would sound horrible.   But in interpretation it would be more like "little stinker"
