This whole thing requires a lot of patience on both sides.

We are marrying the other person's past as much as they are marrying ours.

I think that this is a basic mistake that many guys make. You have to want a girl to love you and not what you can give to her in terms of a life style upgrade.

Some of us mistakenly believed that a pretty FSU woman would accept us divorced WMs with all of our
pre-existing faults and shortcomings - and rather than try to repair those - we simply sought women who
would tolerate us as we are.

The result was a collective rude awakening...

I say keep searching until you meet THAT woman.  Yes it takes time to filter out so much plankton but the Golden Fish is sooooo worth it, in the end.  8)

RW, in my experience are frugal with relatively small amounts of money, but in the early stages of adaption often (not all) don't know much about dealing with larger sums. A Russian guy told me 5 years ago (In Russia), give a RW $1 and she will care for you for a week. Give her $1000 and it will be gone in a week. IMO he wasn't entirely stupid.

RW and UW tend to tolerate a larger age gap than AW.  That is #1 reason men go there.

I wonder how many men here would look overseas if the American women were in the same shape as FSU women?

The fact is that the majority of guys looking will never marry a Russian woman regardless of the method.

It isn't the lack of available, desirable women in the US that's the problem....it is the lack of suitable, desirable US women willing to date undesirable men.

Half the world has below average intelligence.  Anyone who expects everyone to agree with them is most likely in the below average half.

Add language differences combined with spending very little face time with each other and, at the worse extreme, it can culminate in the "she changed after she got here" syndrome. Of course, more often than not, no one changes, it's the self imposed illusion that dissipates.

To be successful, one has to be better at judging character than one's adversary is at being devious. This holds true wherever one searches for a wife.
