For those more adventurous types, I stumbled onto something that MAY have value for your search. A word of warning - this will DEFINITELY require some work and time - but it also MAY allow you to tap into a pool of women that are otherwise unavailable to you.
So try this - as just an EXAMPLE:
Today, I found the Kiss FM (Kyiv Radio) website. I know enough Russian that I am able to navigate around the website OK. I found a link to their discussion forums, which are, of course, in Russian (or Ukrainian).
I also did a search and found several website translation options (Bruno is the expert on this, and he may provide some other links), and found the service at WorldLingo did a pretty good job with Russian.
So, here is the process - step-by step:
1) First step - and the one which will occupy some time - is to find discussion boards and/or personal advertising from the FSU in Russian on the internet. For those searching in Ukraine, this MAY become problematic as the national language of Ukrainian is becoming more common and there are no good web translation tool for Ukrainian. For now anyway, most are still in Russian so it is not a big problem YET. Here is the KissFM discussion forum website - to be used as an example:
http://www.kissfm.com.ua/modules/forums/index.php2) Now that you have the URL for the website, you need to visit one of the free Russian website translation portals. I will use the one at WorldLingo as an example - and there are others which may work as well or better. Anyway, visit this link:
http://www.worldlingo.com/en/websites/url_translator.html3) Now select the tab in the middle of the window entitled "Website Translator" - and type (or copy) the KissFM discussion forum URL into the appropriate section on the form. Be sure to select "Russian" to "English" as the languages to translate, and then select the "Translate" button.
4) You will now see a ROUGH translation of the discussion forums, and it should be sufficient for you to understand the basic meaning of the sections, and messages as you explore further.
5) Posting messages would require you to first translate from English to Russian. I use the Opera web browser which has the option of multiple instances of websites open at a single time. I use this to have one website open where I can translate from English to Russian and then copy-and-paste the translated text into a posted message at a different website very easily. WorldLingo and Paralink both have English to Russian text translation options. If you elect to do this, I suggest you ALWAYS lead the post by telling people you are using machine translation - so that people fully understand you are not a dolt because of poor use of their language.
Keep in mind that KissFM is NOT a site dedicated to meeting women, so this is a process that will enable you to get totally away from the MOB scene and allow you to meet women from the FSU in a much different manner.
I cannot vouch for this method as being effective, or not. I offer it only because it seems it may address one of the objectives expressed by many - which is, "How do I get away from the scammers and GCG's that are prevalent in the agency listings?" This method, though time-consuming, MAY offer an option.
Anyone caring to share their personal experiences are welcome to do so.
Also, anyone caring to share URL's they have discovered, please feel free to post them here.
Offered for whatever it may be worth . . .
