Ok, when you plan your meetings in my city, I will be your last back up plan, agree? I know a nice place where we can celebrate your failures, My Hero  ;D

Failures? I don't have failures, I have adventures :)

You go thru life one back up plan after another. When it's right you no longer need a back up plan :)

So we went to dinner. I made reservations at Cafe Del Rey (Thanks GQ, nice place) and picked her up at her apartment. The restaurant was right around the corner (literally)!
The place has a cool vibe and she really enjoyed it, in fact she didn't want to leave but the espresso was done and neither one of us was having dessert. The conversation was good and I am impressed that she made her own way here, has an attorney who is working on changing her status, has her own apartment, bought her own car and is standing on her own two feet. She's got spine.
At the table behind us there was a group of people having a good time and one of the ladies had an infectious laugh we both commented on. We left at the same time as they did and I noticed that with them there was an elderly man using a walking device. We waited for them to get up and on the way. The last man there, a tall thin man with an afro insisted we go before him so we did after shaking hands and exchanging "Merry Christmas's."
We were shuffling out behind them when M indicated she needed to use the little girl's room. I pointed out where it was and waited for her return. As we exited the re staraunt I handed my ticket to the valet and walked to the kiosk to pay. When I turned around M came up to me quickly giggling and red faced. Seems she had mistaken someone else's car for mine and seated herself in the passenger seat. She said the lady driving looked at her and asked "Is this MY car?" That's when M realized what she had done. Well everybody laughed including Mr. Afro. He came up to us and we exchanged a few giggles and he hugged both I and M.
It was still early so we went to the waterfront and walked for awhile. We decided neither of us was ready to call it a night so we went to see a movie. She wanted to see Avatar. I remembered seeing a theatre on the way in to her place so we drove around a bit and I saw an area that looked like it should have a theatre, went there and sure enough there was one and Avatar was playing. I looked at my watch and saw that we would only miss the previews...so we go in, sit down and the funniest thing happened. I was positive we were watching the end of the movie, which we were. Come to find out my watch was still on Donetsk time!!!
So we had some time to kill. She decided she wanted to play some video games. KEWL :) I got some tokens and we raced our way thru London, Paris and Hawaii. She stayed right on my ass but I managed to cross the finish line ahead of her. We played a couple other games then it was time to see the movie. Cool Movie, even with the underlaying message.
By the time I got her home it was way late. We hugged, kissed litely and said goodnight. As she left she asked me to call her tomorrow.
Later I noticed the roses were still in the back seat where she placed them, oops. I had gotten her a dozen pink roses and pulled one out :) Oh well, next time.

Nice.. one little piece of advice from experience.. its never a good thing to be the first boyfriend of a new immigrant.  Keep that in mind if things develop.

Jolly,

How'd you meet her?
“To study the meaning of man and of life — I am making significant progress here. Man is a mystery: if you spend your entire life trying to puzzle it out, then do not say that you have wasted your time. I occupy myself with this mystery, because I want to be a man.”

I have too....asked a few. One said "Because I'm Russian." Most indicate it's because they are familiar with it.

Yeah thats what I got also when I was still on there.  But, it strikes me as dishonest.  I would love to be wrong about it.. but... there is the fishy smell again.. ;)

Anyway.. I am glad you had a nice time with her and am certainly not trying to suggest you not see her again.  I would just do it without any even slightly colored glasses on and go real slow emotionally.

As it turned out, her "group of friends" was seven other men, also from yahoo personals, at the same table at the same time.

Well played by a sneaky woman!  I would have wished her luck and then either left or taken a seat over at the bar.
