I didn't find the method any stranger than than that of pursuing someone from a different continent, who speaks a different language, and cannot communicate in your tongue fluently.  

As for the story, I saw far worse.  Here is one of the mildest, and least shocking things that I became aware of.

A neighbour, Oksana, had married an escapee (i.e. non Kyiv native from a village), Vasya.  After marriage, they lived with her mother, who was widowed.  Vasya began cheating on Oksana almost immediately.  Eventually, Oksana's mother offered Vasya a leather coat in exchange for sex, and Vasya slept with her.  He then moved permanently to his mother in law's bed, while Oksana occupied the next room, where she could hear them in the night.

Oksana, then about 23, wanted a child.  So, she seduced a neighbourhood boy, Sashko, who was then 16.  She immediately became pregnant.  Oksana told Sashko he was going to be a father.  He was scared, but Oksana told him "I am telling you so that you know you are the father.  But don't worry about anything, Vasya will be officially listed as the father, and he will support the child."  

The baby was born and, as Oksana and Vasya still lived in the same apartment and were legally married, Oksana listed him as the father on the birth certificate, as (then) Soviet law allowed.   Vasya knew he was not the father.  

Oksana divorced Vasya and sued him for child support.  Vasya was stuck.  To claim that the child was not his would have been a humiliation he would never live down among Ukrainian men, who would tease him that his wife had to find a "real man" to "knock her up".  He was also forced to fork over one third of his salary monthly.  To add insult to injury, after the divorce, Oksana told the neighbours who the real father was, and Vasya, humiliated, moved out of his ex mother in law's apartment.

I'm not surprised by that story at all, Boethius 

I was involved with a Ukrainian woman long ago who was the lynchpin in a similar family betrayal with more twists and turns, symbiotic alliances, and sad results than the darkest noir novel. Some of these stories are so unbelievably outlandish that they make soap opera plots look credible.

Sadly, in some scenarios everyone is wrong in their actions and motivations.

I never thought this idea was true and figured at first he was stupid and lying.  Little relieved he was just lying.  That was the reason I asked him right away did he talk on the phone with the mothers.  At first I figured he was writing the agencies.  Once he mentioned the phone knew he was lying but was surprised on others thinking this is a good method.

A lot of people read this forum and do not register.  I am sure there are a couple idiots trying this method right now.  My concern is for these people.  This is a terrible method. You really need to think about what you write as they impact others.

Greg, Regarding someones wife being beautiful I could care less.  My wife is a professional model over here in the USA making several thousands dollars a day (you can see her at the Houston auto show right now and yes she also has to speak about the cars as well).  Who cares.  Should have no bearing on my opinions.  I believe very little on this forum but I listen to everyone.  And I do change my opinions on things based on what people say.  But there are no experts on this board.

Of course when jokes are explained it has a tendency to lose  it's intended humor and value. I would also give you that there's a slim chance Greg may have missed the humor, too.

Anyway...I'll throw examples which I hope will lend some idea to the intended humor.

1. The late Anna Nicole's boyfriend, was once taped as saying, "...aren't they gorgeous?..." as the camera panned over to show Anna Nicole Smith walking towards him 'alone'.

2. Dennis Miller, when he used to be one of the three host announcer for ABC's Monday Night Football along with Al Michaels and Frank Dierdorf, made a comment during the Miami Dolphins' game against the New Jersey Jets as the camera zoomed towards a gorgeous blonde with huge knockers and instantaneously said, "...and those ladies and gentlemen are my 3 biggest fans!....'. Dennis Miller, is as devout a conservative as he is a comedian. Both Al and Frank was not to be heard from for the next 2 minutes immediately after the line because they couldn't help themselves off the floor from laughing. LOL.

...so when Greg first asked if the avatar was you, I responded and said, which one?, which I don't really believe Greg got the humor either. It's an off-colored humor so it warrants neither an explanation or repetition by the same jokester.

Before this thread wanders any further, I do want to show my appreciation for what Greg had to say about me and wifey in his post.

Greg is only one of two people I still occasionally communicate with off the board and exchange basic personal news and life events with. The other person being Wesley and his lovely wife Lora from Toronto. I think highly of both Greg and Wesley, their wives and their respective marriages in the same light as I hold mine. For the rest of the folks, I am indifferent for the sole reason I do not know any of them, nor are aware or interested of any information in their lives. All the other superficialities usually tied into these affairs and unions are things I decided sometime ago is not for me and my wife to be involved in.

Big deal if a guy wants to target older RW who have no internet exposure. You're concerned about the man? The only reason you're concerned about men is because you've already concluded any older beautiful RW who's sitting at home single and not on the internet is automatically insincere.

So what if a guys wastes a few seconds of his life and writes a cut an paste letter to a young RW inquiring about her mom? So what if she says "no"? I don't think a guy is going to come back here and say he got scammed out of a few seconds of his life.

I'm not old enough to have daughters hook me up with mothers but I've had mothers try to hook me up with their daughters. I admit I was not attracted to many of the mothers looks but I requested to see a photo of their daughter or meet them anyway. Doesn't hurt to try.

Many do for many different reasons. I am not one of them. It is the glory of anonymity and the internet. Men and women, young and old will stretch the truth to just plain out tell a bald-faced lie. Many people who are otherwise meek and humble can get online and take on a completely different personality and outlook. Years ago when I was just an internet newbie I frequented chatrooms and quite enjoyed it. That lead to meets where chatters would gather at in a city at a hotel and meet the people behind the names. Oh what an eye opener those things were.

Kievstar, regarding you regarding what I said about GQ's wife. Relax. Don't be such an assdart. Your are the one that has made such a big deal about all this. I personally have never thought much of you as a poster here. You just always have seemed to come across as a smartass. I dont think anyone here has self appointed themselves as an expert in this field. There are certainly people on this board that should be taken more seriously than others and understandably so.  I'm elated your model wife has found work. I'm sure everyone else here is happy with her salary you so modestly afforded the board with the knowledge of. I hope she sells a many a car for whoever she is modeling for. If your attitude at home is anything like it is here then I'm positive she is happy to get out of the house regardless of the pay she is receiving for modeling or talking about cars or whatever.

That was all I needed.  A different opinion.  I was hoping to keep the thread open, I was also hoping one of the "warriors" would step up and be the better person.

I was worried that it would become a battle and all sense of the original post (for what it was worth) would be lost.

It is hard to balance my own feelings with what is best for the people involved, and for the group.  I appreciate your input.  If you ever feel I am wrong, or hurtful, kick me where it hurts the most.  I respect your opinion.

Most men lie at some point in their life. After they grow up, some men learn that lying is counter productive and disrespectful no matter what the intentions behind the lie. Even "white lies" are totally unnecessary and it's entirely possible to be both tactful and truthful.

The fact that you blatantly lied as you did in this thread "for a joke" says a lot about your character. I wonder if you even considered that no one here with some sense will take anything you say at face value from now on?
