Need some opinions!

OK, I have been writing a Russian women for about a month or so now. And so far I really have not seen a real bad sign of a scammer. But we have been talking about meeting. This is her? last letter. How does this sound to all. I heard that a Russian women can not come to the U.S. without you going there first?  So what do you all think. She still has not asked for any money.. I would like to believe but still skeptical.

To be straight Kerry, it doesn't sound so good IMO, if you have only been writting her for one month and she is saying she loves you and you haven't already met. As you asked for opinions this is mine, but there isn't so much information to go on either.

I think it is 110% scam,but that's just me. Ask to call her on her phone and lets see what happens. Have you googled her name? There is just so much wrong here that I dont know where to begin but dont worry. You've came to the right place.

The bad news, she is not real, you are being scammed.

Kerry with some things we debate around here their are usually always exceptions. To me, with the following, their is no exception.

No good, real, Russian/Ukraine woman will ever tell a man she has never met she loves him.

Thanks for a the replies so quickly.  I have talked to her on the phone once. Also I have googled her name and came up with nothing and her address also. She even sent pictures holding a sign with my name on it.

A lot of these on-line translators are pretty rough. It is typical agency-like format.

That would be not cool ..having not ever met.
If you had then sent this money, you would have fallen for a Scamola..& I would absolutely concur with Jack earlier there [whom I know and is an expert traveler to the FSU]

We don't know how old 'Olga' is as you don't mention that.
Old enough to be a mommy, I see.
Also..Are you sure you really want to acquire an instant family?
I mean slam bang..ready for this are you?
I would say after 3-4 months would be enough time to re-evaluate.

If 1000 kisses keep coming through and you yourself are more 'seasoned' here well may a trip to Russia would be in order...

She is thirty two years of age. When I talked to her on the phone her english was fair. And the only family that she has is her father. No kids, or brothers or sisters.
  Also in one of her photos that you sent was a picture of  her passport.

As for if it is scam or not- wait till she asks for the money to travel. Scam is mostly about money.
So, for me it sounds like she is about to ask you to pay for the ticket. That will be it.

Forget the translators and interpreters. Narrow down your search to a Woman who speaks and writes English.
It's a great start to avoiding Scammers and avoiding a possible failed relationship, because she has no way of expressing her fears and doubts to you.

There is something about that photo of her holding your name that just does not look right. The lighting on her does not quite match the background.

Me thinks the work of photoshop have been at play here, her image placed on top of another, and of the cynic in me tells me your name is probably photoshop too.

I won't say you can't be right Handy but I spend a lot of time working with photo shop in my business and a lot of that is putting things where they never were.   To me the photo does not look photoshopped.  If you look at the wallpaper to the right and behind her you can see her shaddow very faintly.  Someone was sitting in that chair in about that position.  The blurr on her hands and both the paper and printing are identical.  It would take longer to photo shop that than it would be to have her sit there with a stack of cards saying "Hello Kerry" "Hello Sam"  "Hello Jim"  and rotating them for a series of photos.  I think the photo is real.

As far as is the girl real? That is harder to say.  I see a lot of the elements of a scam, falling in love, planning to visit, getting a visa, not asking for money early etc.  On the other hand I have had a lot of letters from scammers and have never talked to one on the phone and never had one send a photo.  I would guess she is probably not real but if the OP wants to let it play out there is little to lose as long as he never sends money.

TG I was in a 50/50 kind of thinking, it was the lighting that made me think, but then I don't do very much photoshopping. I am sure the more experienced (like yourself) in this kind of work would spot the more top notch photoshopped photo, and as you say about the time it would take to do the photoshopping it would be quicker to have her hold a stack of cards. So why waste time playing around with the photoshop.

FWIW I would just play it out with the emails, and see what happens. The odds are in favor of her asking for money, known as the Travel/Visa scam. By playing it out, it will give an insight into how the scams can unfold, so you will know wat to look out for in future. Of course be sure DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY.
