« on: March 10, 2010, 11:39:32 PM »
Listers,

those who have more or less experience or relevant  FRESH info with regard to the following:

1. have you heard/ know personally/ read somewhere that applications for a tourist visa (  to come on invitation) in St.Petersburg consulate is done ONLY through express mail ( not physically, in person);

 how is it done nowdays?

2. do you know whether there is a photographer specialising in photos for American visa is somewhere near the Consulate (
St. Petersburg).

All inputs are highly appreciated.

Ludmila.

We just applied for a tourist visa for my MIL about 2 months ago.  As I recall the process.  You apply online and fill out the form which is submitted electronically.  When you apply you need a digital passport photo which any place taking passport photos should be able to do.  Then there is a confirmation page that you send via Pony Express with your payment and any supporting documentation and then they will schedule an interview.  We used Moscow and I don't know anything about St Petersburg but you can find all the info and the form on the US Embassy website.
