Trying to read between the lines, whoever wins (if there is an outright winner) Election on Thursday, will be making changes to Immigration.

Not so sure Handy. The British language test has been in place for some time for general immigrants but was not part of their process for getting a residency card for the existing wife as far as I was aware. Do the wives now have to take the language test during their processing?

As I am not totally knowledgable about the immigration laws of the UK, I feel someone who deals in this everyday would be better qualified.

Sounds like a very good idea and should be enforced.  Language is important and ability to speak will allow people to adapt into new country easier.

The basis English test is in there now.
