  I quit reading profiles years ago. If your not attracted to their pictures whatever is in their profile wont help. Go with the girls your attracted to. Forget the rest.

I strongly disagree with those who have just said; ignore profiles and only look at pictures.

I think you should NOT look at pictures at all; until after you have discerned if the woman meets some of your basic criteria regarding city location, English skills, age, height, weight, education, children, smoking, drinking, etc.

However, aside from those objective measures (albeit there can be lies), I would agree that you can ignore the written subjective part of the profile.

Looking at pictures can get you into a load of trouble, waste a lot of your time, and be very misleading in both directions.

  Looking at pictures wont get you in trouble. Writing to women with great looking pictures way to young and way out of your league will get you in trouble.

  How do you not look at pictures when veiwing womens profiles anyway? Never been able to master that.

  I am a firm believer in physical attraction  If it aint there, there aint no point in pursuing her.

   Let me clarify my last post. First I look at the picture and if I like what I see then and only then will I read some of the profile.
Any man that has filtered through thousands of profiles is guilty of that.

Funny, I only looked at profiles that came up through searches. So the whole height-weight-age part was met before checking the visuals. Scanning thousands, even hundreds, seems like such an inordinate waste of time. If I was seeing more than 2-3 dozen on a search I tightened it down by adding parameeters without even really looking.

Of course when you are on the home pages and going to the search there are the promo pics but I had no interest in theose outside my search parameters. Why waste the time?

  Ok Ok Ok...... When I do a search I have parameters too. 35 and over to start. Height or weight I leave open. FSU women profiles arent like American women profiles where 9 out of 10 women in that age bracket have been grazing at the buffets way to long so weight is seldom a problem.
  I am 6' 2"" so tall chicks are welcome.
  But when I do look at the results its all visual. I have to be attracted before I look any further into the profile. Hair color doesnt matter to me and kids are ok too.

  When women say they have an Average Body it really means very chubby, borderline fat. A Few Extra Pounds means totally fat. Big and Beautiful means dangerously obese.

My point is, it is important to throw out the notion of economic disadvantage unless you want to go hunting around the poorest parts and honestly, why would you? You can do that right at home if you choose...

For what it's worth, that was my experience in Romania.  In fact, Romania convinced me that I wanted to move there.  I thought the places I visited there were nicer than most cities in the US.  I wasn't thinking about dating/marriage at the time but I came to the conclusion that if I wanted to live happily ever after with a nice EE girl that I should move to EE.  My choices would be really limited if I was stuck only dating girls who were willing to leave their homes and families.

As far as girls wanting to get out...I can show you some really nice girls in small town USA that you can get ten years younger and better looking.  I saw them on US dating sites before I left.  Gorgeous single moms who are genuinely sexually attracted to the idea of a man who treats his wife and kids well and has a 401K (no matter how small).

As Ecocks says, you first do your parameter screening to get the list of women.  Yes, then of course, you look at the pictures.

But the idea is . . . start with your parameters first, not with the pictures first.

I have a strong pulse, but a low pulse rate.  The latter due to my exercise activities, especially the relatively fast walking. 

But, if you mean am I half dead relative to not looking at women's pics . . . I was only saying don't look at pics until you have narrowed your sample to include only those you should be looking at. 

In general, I am still a 'woman looker' both at pics and in real life.   

Luckily the Gal living with me is not at all the jealous type.  When we are out and about I frequently point out other women who have nice shapes.  She then takes a look and generally agrees with me.  But each day, I tell her a couple of times or so how great she looks.  In the mornings when she heads out to university, I tell her she looks so good that she probably shouldn't be let out of the house without a chaperon.  She likes those words . . . it seems.

As I found out the hard way, you may find that the most commonly lied about serious thing is their age.  Many will lower on the sites by 3-10 years, so be careful there. 

Frankly I would be unhappy to meet a women that didn't drink at all.  I have been in the very uncomfortable situations when my date did not have any alcohol and I ended up drinking a couple of glasses of beer or wine alone. 

Smoking however is seriously frowned upon these days even in FSU countries.  Though not had one lie to me about that.

Too much words about your lacks and too little about advantages, just : Decent, Down-to-earth, Easy going bla-bla-bla - typical words.
Woman would think that you are a big man who all time lie on a sofa with the book, spoil kitchen with the culinary masterpieces and snore at nights. As well you need the woman who will never argue with you cos you will call her a mule.

Yes, you are mostly correct.  I was only pointing out to you how the lying about age thing comes about and the thought processes involved.
