Well for one thing FSU women prefer an older established well endowed man. So that means age gaps of 20 plus years are acceptable for them.
They prefer the traditional housewife role that was once common in America. Cooking, cleaning, taking care of kids etc. etc. But if asked they will pull their own weight and get a job without complaint. Another reason is that they go to great lengths to please their man by always looking their best. Plus they believe the man is head of the family and final authority in decision making and will not argue about the decisions he makes.

Just a few things I picked up over the years.

OK, so maybe it WAS a stupid question ...  :rolleyes2:

P.S.  I was hoping for something a little more illuminating than just "NUTS"?

Some of us mistakenly believed that a pretty FSU woman would accept us divorced WMs with all of our
pre-existing faults and shortcomings - and rather than try to repair those - we simply sought women who
would tolerate us as we are.

The result was a collective rude awakening...

I can only speak for myself.
Well, technically I could pretend to speak for all of mankind, but I am doubtful that's going to come across as even remotely believable or accurate.

That having been said....

Romanticism run amok.
A quest where I am most likely more akin to Don Quixote than Don Juan.

For me it was so far outside the norm that it fell into the "this just might be crazy enough to work" category.
I really believed it, or I would not have continued past the first few months.

I think nearly every man gets lured (suckered perhaps) into believing some of the "myths."  But, I also think that behind most myths are some kernels of truth, or at least that has been my experience.  UW/RW are different, in some ways, than AW.  I can honestly say that different was quite appealing to me when I started searching, more so than mere words can adequately express here.  It still is.

Do I find Slavic women more attractive?  Well, sure.  In more ways than just physically, but still, there is no question I find them more attractive.  I find their near universally quirky behavior to be both endearing and maddening simultaneously as well.  The strange superstitions, the family-focus (at least the ones I have met), and yes, the culture, are intriguing for me.

The strange thing is that regardless of the number of trips, the frustrations, failures, highs, lows, etc., I do not regret it.
It changed me for the better.  I have made several friends that I would never have met otherwise, seen things I never dreamed of, experienced things I could not have imagined (both good and bad).  It's worth it for that alone.  But it is not for the faint of heart.

When I began, I was very uncertain.  By the end of my first trip I was quite certain it would work out.  Six trips later I have mixed feelings.  As I enter what could very well be my last trip (after a personally disastrous summer that is pointless to delve into now), I must say that I am quite unsure as to what the eventual outcome will be.

But I look forward to the next trip none-the-less.  At the very least I will see old friends again, and a few new places and things.  And there is a chance that things will actually work out as hoped.

Thanks, Shadow ... You seem to be an exception here, then ...

Kevin

Actually no, there are several of us here I think. I also know of a number of others where I live that met women that just happened to be Russian and, like me, were not specifically looking for FSUW either on MOB or Russian dating sites.

IMO, those that go out of their way to look for FSUW to be their wives to the exclusion of all others are a bit weird. No offence intended. ;)

I guess you picked those things up from BillyB, right? ;)

Yeah, facetrock, I didn't (seriously) comment on your post earlier because I thought it might be tongue-in-cheek,
but aren't those "RW qualities" that you listed largely just the "myths" referred to by AJ and XMan here?

Let's not get the newbies confused about this ...

"Why are y'all really looking for RW?"

The answer is three-fold with varying amounts of the basic ingredients.

1. Most of the men in this endeavor are social mis-fits, incapable of successful dating in their own back yards.

2. You can "get" a younger woman than is normally available to you in your own back yard.

3. You can "get" a prettier woman than is normally available to you in your own back yard.

Everything else is pretty much BS or justification.
