My variation is called Welsh Borscht. ;) Seriously, it's awesome.

Post a recipe! Borscht is the best.

Post a recipe! Borscht is the best.

I'll consider it.

BTW, it's also known as Lazy man's Borscht because it's quicker to make than the traditional variety. ;D

I don't think reality works that way. Look at Russia. Women often take what's available.

A guy I know in Russia is the perfect example. He's smart and has an ok job, but he's short, dull, drinks, smokes, about the ugliest dude I've ever seen and worst of all the guy reeks.

In the US, he'd be about as undesireable as a guy can possibly get. In some Jerry Springer show circles he could probably do alright if he was a biker with a scruffy goatee and some tattoos, but he's not. He actually did spend some time in the US. He hated it. He got zero chicks here.

In Russia, however, he's got a very cute young wife.  :noidea:

I'll reverse that scenario: Back in the early nineties I had a friend whose born in the Czech Republic, moved here when very young. One summer he "went home." Upon his return we talked about his trip. About the only thing he talked about was how he couldn't get a date in the US (slumpy. dumpy appearance and demeanor, crooked and green teethe, near zero personality) but "back home" women would follow him around when they heard him speaking English (dates galore with hot women). Within three months he's packed up and took a teaching job "back home."

Kevin, I am surprised. If there is one food that is seen as stereotypically Russian/Ukrainian it is borscht. It is a beet and cabbage soup.

This woman's equal is available on any public beach in the US so what are we left with prime moving reasons for chasing her half way around the world? Younger (you are 31, she is 24) or easier. Only you can say if you are willing to approach and date such women in your own back yard.

Best of luck to you.

And we will be - chasing her all around the globe, that is. Her photo appears on Latvian, Brazilian, and Ukrainian
cheesecake sites. My educated guess is that this photo is Central or South American based on the photos it's
coupled with - and the telltale baggie bathing suit on the guy in the backround...  here she is in living color...

I believe it was groov or ConnerVT who once served up a useful tool called www.tineye.com - this lady is all
over the place. I highly doubt Bride.ru even knows her real name, nor where she lives - but that won't stop
foolish hopefuls from writing to her...

Would American women choose to lezz out rather than be with Father Time? Some would yup, because in our society it's a popular and acceptable choice. Others wouldn't. As is, plenty of women will date men 10-20 years older right here the good ole USofA.

You're presenting exceptions as somehow to be the 'rule' and not as they are, exceptions. Ain't working...

Surely you're not going to try and peddle me the agency bit that somehow there's no eligible men in Russia, do you? You're almost trying to convince someone that because the perceived reality that there's lack of eligible men in Russia, it's normal for RWs to date grandpa Alfred or Joe Loser, do you?

The number of pretty women have little to do with the dynamic working in Russia, in which, that same dynamic will never happen in the US. Beyond men, pretty women living in the US have other choices in life and thus many more things to occupy themselves with. This isn't just about men. RWs living in Russia, as a whole, simply does not have the same life choices AWs do. Whether that means actvities, hobbies, careers, living flexibilities, cars, where they live, etc....and men are just one segment of their life's choices. You give RWs these options and choices in Russia and US Joe Loser will be as much a loser in Russia as he is in the US.

What's really funny to me is, the Joe Losers eternally try to convince each other that their lifes miseries and failings lie because of pretty Barbies - never themselves.

Do you ever notice that you'll never read any Joe Loser say,

"Based on my social inadequacies and/or undesireability, my choices in women are slim, very limited, or none at all. Women of stature I can only dream of intimate relationship with will simply pass me over because, after all, it is their choice and privilege not to spoon with me. I can't and shouldn't hold that against any of them. I understand. Thus, I go to Russia where the dynamics at play is different and I can manage to get relatively close to meeting both my fantasies and desire, which I know and accept simply will and can never happen to me in the US."

Instead, what do you read?

"AWs are fat! IF only there's more AWs in the US that are as fit as RWs, I would not have any reason to be searching in Russia!"

Funny that...

It sometimes, perhaps usually, contains meat. I usually use beef. FWIW, the whole is better than the sum of the parts, so you should give it a go when you have a chance.

I don't understand why men, after divorcing one or more times can't simply state that they simply found themselves having missed the bus as it regards remaining available women thus are seeking what they can't find at home elsewhere.

At a certain point, most of the slim, good looking locals are long taken.

I have to disagree with you GQ. RW have plenty of choices as far as persuing their career/education, spending leisure time, travelling, hobbies and interests. As a matter of fact IMO they may even have more choices available to them than AW, or maybe they just take advantage of those choices more than AW do. My feeling is that some of the women like to keep themselves extremely occupied BECAUSE of lack of available men who are WORTHY of their standarts.

I recently saw an ad on mamba by a young woman who stated: "it's bad enough that there are 9 men for every 10 women here, but on top of that, these 9 men have to be complete idiots". This happens to be a pretty common experience expressed by RW that I talk to. Surely there are good, attractive and worthy Russian men, but  as most good attractive and worthy AW - they are taken. And RW are very protective of their man and do their best to keep him veeeery happy. And If she doesn't there is 50 other RW just around the corner who will be more than happy to accommodate him.
And by the way, before you yell "agency hype!" just talk to some RW, or men like Chivo who live in Russia and ask them. Even a very average guy who doesn't abuse substances and his woman would have a very difficult time to stay SINGLE over there.

'No eligible men'. No, I definitely won't say that. But, I do see an obvious imbalance and the Russian women that I know that have been to the US see it as well.

Is it enough of an imbalance for US Joe Loser or Gramps Time to walk down the street in Russia and have women flock to them? Hell no, and I think most Americans looking for Russian brides will fail.

But, it's enough of an imbalance for normal non loser guys that I work with to be able to juggle two hot girlfriends or a hot girlfriend and a wife and it does make it easier for a decent guy to line up dates in Russia.

I do think women will choose from what's available. I'll give an example from the US. Recently a buddy of mine married a girl 20 years younger than him. At his wedding there were a bunch of 20 something year old girls, her friends, and late 30s to 40s dudes, his friends. Did the girls ignore us like a bunch of lepers? No. We all mingled together and some hooked up.

Now, if I went to a nightclub packed with youngsters, I'd be the odd man out. It would be more of a challenge to get the attention of the same girls who were easy to pick up on at the wedding. See what I'm saying?

I'm the same way. Hate beets, hate cabbage, though I do like soups.

I tried it on the first visit after serious cajoling, pouty lips, you name the manipulation technique involved, i finally agreed to try it.  So they bring it out.. it's looking at me all red and gnarly.. and then "PLOP", she just made it exponentially worse by dropping a glob of thick white substance right into the bowl, and swirling it around.  So, now I gotta deal with beets,  cabbage, and some unknown white substance called "Smetana".   It looks vaguely family, but you just never know with stuff over there. If I get anything resembling something with a flavor even remotely similar to buttermilk (which they seem to adore over there, called Kefir, and it COULD have been some weird Russian buttermilk paste)  it will NOT be a very pretty restaurant scene.

So anyway.. I stare at that and stare at that. Knowing full well it's going to flat suck out loud and I'll have a hard time with the gag reflex... so, I bought some extra time by swirling the white stuff around a little more... and then.. finally.. took the first spoon and a tiny sip.. I was shocked.. it tastes nothing like cabbage nor beets (at least like not at all like those bright red things on the buffet that try to fool you into thinking they're something sweet).  It was actually.. GREAT... I had several more bowls of the stuff that first day.

Now, I would just put it in an I.V. unit and take it straight in the arm.. that is, if my arm had taste buds.
