Turboguy,

Due to the split I have changed. Read it.

With respect to your post, thank you so much for posting some historical comments about jb. We must understand that sometimes frustration can result in comments that don't
come across so nicely. I'm sure jb  had your interest and life in mind while posting and meant the best for everyone. He is probably an excellent person once you know him and we must,
along with myself, be able to overlook these types of comments. After all, jb is a little older than us and we should have respect for those older than us. While writing I"m asking myself,
"Can't we all get along?"

Thank you again for your informative post and lets work together in our responses for the readers and push forward with the hope that everyone can make it work for the best of everyone.

Actually I am not sure how old jb is but I think I could be older than he is.  I am older than dirt but I am not sure which came first, jb or dirt.  I have always felt that some of the people who don't get along on forums might turn into great friends if they had the occassion to be face to face.

I have met jb and he is quite a nice person.  Very pleasant and interesting to talk to.  I had hoped to meet KenC when I was in San Diego last Spring but he was very sick at the time so we did not get a chance to meet.  I always thought it was a bit funny when I faced some disagreement with my ideas here that KenC could rip me apart in a thread and send me a nice chatty pm.  It always let me know that he just felt I was going about things wrong and it wasn't personal.  Everyone has a right to disagree.

I have met a few other RWD people and everyone without exception has been terrific people. I have made some great friendships and some interesting conversations.  We can all get along and I think it is far easier now than it used to be.

Grats TG and VWRW on your anniversary. Hope you have many more.

It's a little silly for some to predict relationship failures or success. Most of have been divorced at least once anyway but there is someone for everyone no matter how goofy, dumb or poor a person is. Just got to find a the right person.

One thing I got to say about you TG is that you're as tough as nails. You have one of the most calmest demeanors I've seen. You never snap or emotionally explode. Those that have take shots at you couldn't take the same punishment in return without snapping. I'm sure you can handle some of the very strongest RW out there no problem. Combative personalities usually make for rough riding relationships.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

BillyB, thank you for your congratulation and kind words about my husband. He is the strongest person I have ever met; I have come to that conclusion when seeing how he handles crisis situations and uncertainties. At such moments, he becomes the source of inspiration for our family, children and his employees. There is something elusive in him that makes everybody who gets around him feel secure. Everybody who has ever met him in person likes him, including my mother, who adores him to tears. She is so happy seeing how much my husband cares of me, and she always takes his side, so when three of us send time together, I always lose in arguing for my cause.  :(
If you don't understand something, why the other person is the idiot?

Although you might not realize it from most of my posts, I am at heart something of an old-fashioned romantic. When two people so obviously love each other, that is impressive; when they respect each other so clearly, that is truly inspirational and something that those who have not yet found "the one" should aspire to.

May you have many more happy years together!

Congrats on the three years...

I remember when I caught sh!t on the boards... all the people who predicted the falure of my marriage as well as questioning the morals of me and my wife... it's amazing how petty some people can be...

After getting involved in battles and mud slinging, I had to walk away from the boards. I ended up taking Socrates advice: "If anyone spreads gossip about you, or speaks ill of you... live so that no one will believe it..."

Viktoriya and I just passed anniversary number 8 and are heading towards number nine... sooner or later, everyone will have to admit that this thing just might work out after all ;-) Actually all of that has been a source of amusement over the years. My wife still tells me she is going to buy me a T-shirt that says: "LP was right" [haha...inside joke, that one...]

Anyway... we moved to the Pittsburgh area last year... part of me loves it here, part of me finds it depressing... I grew up here. I remember it in its heyday. Driving past some closed up shops is really depressing... but the rolling hills are home to me.

Go Pens! Go Steelers!

Let me start off by saying thanks to Billy and David for the nice comments.  I appreciate it and of course thanks to my wonderful wife for her wonderful comments.

Mark, Thanks to you as well and a belated welcome to the Pittsburgh area.  I am glad to see another RWD'er around.  Yes, Pittsburgh has changed a lot since it's hayday as the steel manufacturing capital.  There is a good side though, both the air and the city are a lot cleaner.  I can recall standing up at a friends house on a hill overlooking the J&L works which was about 10 miles long and employed 15,000.  The dirty smoke was pouring up into the air and the houses in those cities were always covered in soot.  If you haven't been there you might like Alexander's Restaurant which is the only Russian restaurant I know of in the Burg.  There are also a few small Russian grocery stores near there.   Of course if you ever find yourself traveling up around the Beaver Falls area, feel free to stop by and say hello.  Most of all congratulations on 8 years and I wish you many more.  Don't worry another dozen or two years and everyone will be a believer.

Bruno!  Nice to see you.  Don't be such a stranger.  We miss you and always enjoyed your helpful and informative posts.  When I first saw the photo I thought you had hidden in my bathroom to take that photo but on closer examination the guy in the photo is much better looking and thinner than I am.  Otherwise it shows me exactly right down to the diapers.  That is the best part of being married.  Someone here to change them.

Bruno!  Nice to see you.  Don't be such a stranger.  We miss you and always enjoyed your helpful and informative posts.

Stranger's etymology : Old French estrangier (“foreign, alien”), from Latin extraneus (“foreign, external”)

Hmmm, seem that i am really a "stranger"...

Three year ago, i have give up seeking for a RW women... all is your fault... you have married the best RW who can be found and there was nothing anymore interesting for me...

Now, about your success/fail prediction... it was a difficult job at the time because we mainly only know you... and all odds was not on your side... usually, on forum like these only the guy is somehow know and nobody know about the new wife... in a marriage, you have two partner... you have simply found the right shoe for you foot, lucky you... i am pretty sure that VWRW have somehow a big responsability in the success of your marriage too... She was the unknow variable who can change everything in the prediction of your marriage success...

About me and the forum, you will not see me a lot... to much busy with a other forum ( owned by a other Dan :p ) non related to foreign marriage... Dan have ask me to say "hi" and these topic was perfect for it... you will see me again before your Oak marriage anniversary ( 80 year married )...

I will agree totally that VWRW was the key to it all.  I have said many times that I found the most wonderful woman in the world and I do think any success we have had is more due to her than anything.

Do stop back before our Oak wedding anniversary.  If I am still alive then I am sure I won't be able to see a computer screen any more.

Welcome back Bruno, good to see you.

I think I have been to the Pittsburgh area 6 times now and I usually spend a weekend in Oakland. From what I have read, Pittsburgh is now considered one of the better places to live on the East Coast.

I work around a lot of managers from various companies and it doesn't surprise me your husband is exactly as you describe. I was sure his demeanor here would translate into the real World. If I remember correctly, TG owns a business and it's no easy task and there will be ups and downs and if a guy is to survive, he needs to handle the downs well and it's times like those that real men shine and turn the women on!

VWRW, you also should be credited for any of TG's success. Even if he was a strong man before you married him, a good woman can make him stronger. A bad woman could tear him down.

It's good to see you or any woman give her husband high praise in public.

Good to see you back Bruno. You were once about 3000 posts ahead of me when I first joined this forum and now we're about even. Get to 3000 ahead again and then you can relax.

No holds barred - the members only area.
After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten

Congratulations to you Turbo and to your Irina.  I haven't posted here for a very long time. We started out at about the same time (you with your first K1 "adventure"). (I had a first K1 "adventure" also). We shared many posts and situations - from defining the details we needed to fill out our paperwork, to talking about the tough interviewers at the American Embassy in Moscow.  We were one of the first to move over to this site, from the "other" site.  I have been happily married to my wonderful wife for nearly 5 and a half years now. We used to live in PA also, but have since moved to Central NY.

I always admired your patience, civility and determination when you were taking such horrible cr@p from some of the posters mentioned up-thread. Best of everything to you and your bride and I hope you have many more anniversaries!

Billy and Maxx, thanks for the good words and you are right.  VWRW is the one really responsible for our success and she is an impressive and wonderful woman.

Mies, thanks for the good wishes.

Voyager,  Yes, of course I remember you.  There were three of us forum junkies with interviews about the same time.   Spa Dude from Reno had his fiancees interview the same day as I did with my first fiancee.  She had better results and yours was I believe 5 days after.  You were flying in on the day I was flying out.  You were still living in PA then.  I hope you like the central NY area.  I used to spend almost as much time up that way as I did at home ages ago.  At one time I strongly considered moving to the finger lakes region.  I used to spend a lot of time in Syracuse, as well as Watertown, Binghampton, Horseheads, Bath and so on.  I loved that area except for the snow.

I am glad to hear you are doing well and congratulations on 5 1/2 years of marriage.  I had forgotten anything about your first K-1 misadventure but sometimes things don't go as we expect.  Perseverance pays off however and we both seem to have found wonderful women and happy lives.  If you ever get down to the Pittsburgh area, please look me up and hang around.   You were always a wise person whose advice could be very helpful to those who need it.

Can you explain this "members only area?"

More or less a gloves-off section of the board, with minimal moderation but where obvious blows below the belt-line are still somewhat taboo.

The only Russian Delis we have found are in Squirrel Hill... which do you think is best? It's funny but with all of the Italian Delis around... you can't find Kurd anywhere except the Eastern European Delis. I asked a woman at one of the Italian places why you can't buy Kurd around here, and she said it's because everyone wants to sell you their mozzarella...

Meanwhile the most amazing thing happened this year: My darling Wife did something she swore she never would... she started watching the Steelers! She actually has become a grudging fan of the black and gold... ahhh.. it was just a matter of time!

I was only at Alexanders one time and that was back in 2007.  At the time they were only open on weekends.  It was an upscale place and on the Friday night when I went the staff far outnumbered the customers.  I am not sure if it is still in business or not.  The references that I can find to it are all old.  It was in Squirl Hill which is the center for Russian Immigrants.  This is the contact info and address.  If you decide to go, I would suggest giving them a call first to make sure it still exists.

Restaurant Alexander   (412) 421-3370     5840 Forward Ave, Squirrel Hill, PA

When I was there right to the left and upstairs was a Russian Grocery store only open in the mornings and accross the street was I believe the Star Grocery that has food from everywhere from China to Russia.  I did not go in either to see the selection.

My wife has also turned into a pretty good Steeler fan.  Sometimes she gets more excited during the games than I do.  Everything you can share is great.

Turbo, you're right in that Alexander's may be closed - it doesn't appear on this site...

Old Europe and Roxolana's Garden have also closed...  tough market in Steeler City ?
