Getting revenge on a scammer??

I wonder if anyone remembers the movie Catch Me If You Can, starring Leo Di Caprio as young con artist Frank Abagnale Jr.  In one scene in the movie Leonardo meets Jennifer Garner, who is posing as a young high priced escort in a luxury New York city hotel.  Jenifer agrees to spend the entire night with Frank Abagnale for $1000.00, a very large sum of money in the late 1960's.  Frank starts towards the door to go cash some large fake checks downstairs with the hotel.  Jennifer asks where he is going, and then asks him to sign over a $1400.00 cashiers check to her instead of giving her cash.  Frank objects and states that they agreed upon a price of $1000.00.  She pulls $400 cash out of her bra and he gives her the fake check!!  So she gets NOTHING (!!) and instead pays him $400 cash to sleep with her!! 

The point of the story is that we always hear about Russian women scamming western men out of large sums of money.  I just wonder if there has ever been a western man who turned the tables on one of these women and scammed her instead??  What a great story that would be!!

Over the years there have been a good handful of scorned men who appeared here to try and seek revenge or otherwise 'out' or scam a alleged scammer.

A useless and possibly damaging exercise.

The bigger picture here Rubicon is scamming is wrong and a practice of lowlifes. Male/Female, American/FSU makes no difference really, they are all bottom feeders. But, a more direct answer to your question is no, I do not know of any. Of course there are some guys that prance through from time to time revenge minded as BC points out, swearing they've done this or that to "teach them good" or "teach them to mess with me" types. I've never known one that had any success.


We had a member here once who attempted to go after the wrong scammer to "teach them a lesson". They baited a scammer email address and the scammer sent them a few mailbombs and then hack their computer.

Stories about men giving money to RW scammers were popular 5-10 years ago.
 
So were stories of western men visiting RW and promising love and marriage, only to never call the RW again after having sex for a week.
 
The interesting part is that the male scammer and female scammer were able to spot each other and never hooked up.   Now everyone is so well informed from reading RWD and Antidate that scams seem rare.

What I am thinking of is a professional con artist like Robert Redford in the sting, who goes over to Ukraine and gets access to a marriage agency's computers and releases all of that information to the US media and releases all of the real addresses and contact phone numbers of the ladies to all of the men who have been paying to write to them.  Then after doing that he somehow gets access to the owners bank accounts and transfers all of their monies to his own numbered account in Switzerland!!!

You're right, I watch a lot of movies.  As to taking them too seriously, it's just entertainment and wishful thinking.
