I've just come home now. It was a long day, 18 hours travelling but at least I made it home on the same day this time.

Ha ha . . . this is 'sissy' time.
Think about going from Kerch all the way to west coast of USA.   :o

But seriously, thanks for your nice write up.   :)

Roy,  It seems that you had a relaxing time with your woman, and that you really enjoyed your interactions with Ukrainian people.  When you marry a FSUW, it is important to not only respect her culture and history but to embrace it.  This seems "natural" to you.

When does your bride officially emigrate to Norway?

Yes Gator, it was enjoyable and fun to be able to interact with a few Ukrainians as well.

As for when my girl comes here for good, that depends on the authorities. She will go to the embassy to deliver the papers on July 4, so after that we just have to wait.

Yeah, wasn't too bad. My girl actually had a much longer travel back home to Kerch, in terms of time spent. Something like 27-28 hours, including following me to the airport and going to the train station, waiting time and so on. When she took the bus from Borispol to the train station, the traffic was horrendous and it took a couple of hours.

Here's some photos of my trip to Ukraine.

Info in Russian on the screen in my hotelroom in Gardermoen, view from our apartment in Kiev as well as the interior, Kiev and the blue boat which is the same type as my girl used to work on a few years ago.

Some children of families staying there. The boy on the left asked my girl where I'm from. She said from Norway. The boy was thinking for a while before replying "It's very good that you know people from London".  :D

Thanks for the photographs. The photos from Kiev look like the same area where we stayed a few times. Were you near the main train station?

The buildings at the resort look like concrete structures covered with vinyl siding. The roofs look somewhat like ceramic tiles, but some kind of lighter weight composite material.

Did you have to take the very tall stairs to get to the beach? There are some nice looking flowers and plants there. It looks like you had air conditioners?

You look happy with your girl friend!

Hi Wayne. If memory serves me correct, I believe it was close to the train station, yes.

We had to walk the stairs to get down to the beach, but that was no problem. I welcomed the little extra exercise. Yeah, there were aircondition in all the cabins.

Reidar, thanks for posting all the great pics.

But is it really tradition in Norway to make waffles without wearing T-shirt?

Does the same go for frying bacon?   Ouch!    8)

I'm happy to announce that I'm going back to Ukraine (Kerch) in september. We here in the old world have 5 weeks of paid vacation and I'm using the last two to go see and support my love in her condition. Life is great, isn't it?

Good luck on your next trip. Be sure to take a lot of photographs. It should still be hot weather then.

Thank you my friend. Yes, my girl tells me that by september the air temperature should be quite nice by september as well as the water temperature warmed up throughout the summer. They have a very hot summer now which contrast the cold summer we've had in Norway with record rainfall in July. It would be so nice to get some sunshine then to meet the long, cold and dark wintertime while I wait for her to come to me.

Yeah, saw a report on the drought in the US, too bad. I feel bad for the hard working farmers, except those that grow soy which is a non-food. Wonder how the impact on world food prices will be. As they say here, it won't impact us too bad as we have such high import prices to begin with, but I'd hate it to be a famine elsewhere. We just don't appreciate how good we have it in the west. For now. I mean in my little country of just 5 million, we've always had fish. Then we got oil and gas in '69 with the help of the US and their technology. Then they're talking about wind energy and water being the new gold and all. We have plenty of it all so my Babykova should be taken well care of it seems :-) Most important in her life and the little offspring I hope, is what I can offer. Will do my very best.
