ABC Nightline: A Foreign Affair
« on: August 19, 2011, 04:04:56 PM »
After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten

Bob is cool, he'll have no problems. I do feel bad for the Home Depot guy.

Is there a site where the movie can be watched in Canada? On the Abc site,  could see only a few minutes from each part so far :(

Click "Go to the show" site in red and go to Thursday's show.

You should be able to see it from there.

Incidentally, the West Memphis Three programme is interesting as well.

Thanks! I managed to watch Part 1 for 7:06 min, Part 2 for 6:45 and Part 3 for 1:54, additionally I found an episode about Cary for 2:54. Tried multiple options on the site but neither one shows to outside the U.S. :(
Hopefully I got some picture from those minutes.

Worth watching.  Especially the third segment "Heartbreak after the Romance Tour".  This is a cautionary tale that's aimed at the men instead of the women.

The buying a ring for someone you hardly know thing is just plain sad.  I really felt sorry for that guy.  As said before, Bob will do just fine.  Gotta admire his enthusiasm. . .

Odd, as I can view it if I click on the red box on the front link page, and I get the same message in the "big" box.  I do have to watch an ad for each segment, though.

He really should be bump his minimal age requirement to over 45 and maximum height requirement to 165 cm. A lot of these guys only concern themselves with what they are attracted to and do not take into account it would be nice to have a wife that is attracted to them.

As we say "just let a goat into the garden"  :D I looked through the tours' photos on AFA website. It looks like Bob squeezed and kissed every girl. I doubt the US pretty young flowers who are looking for a sugar daddy would be so easy. No wonder Bob got so sensitive till tears: "could it happen in the US?"  :D

Bob is cool
He is deliberately chasing skirt 30 years his junior. My guess is he'd move that to 40 if he thought he could get away with it.

The interesting thing to me is that he is lying to himself, or at least, to ABC.

Well at least 40 but 168-170cm or so is not a stretch IMO.

Bob has a good attitude, but he did seem like the "kid in the candy store" guy. Personally all the guys that Nightline showed seemed desperate. The Home Depot guy almost suicidal  :P . None IMO has a chance given their methods and approach. They need to come to this forum for a "slap upside the head" at the very least  :D .

I certainly feel for these guys being older and dealing with the reality of dating locally.

For such men like Bob we have another word in Russia "strye-ko-zyol"  :D

Need to come to the forum? Sorry, an old Russian proverb goes: teach a child, until he can lay across a bench, when he will stretch it's whole length, you'll be unable to teach him. When men in such age that seems to be an age of full maturity behave like  the "kid in the candy store" IMO it is quite absurd. I agree with the summary that I/O quoted: it is all about loneliness, fantasy, despair, disparity, delusions and in some cases even becoming senile. I just feel pity for such men and women as well like in the documentary.

Does it mean lecherous old goat?

Bob is clueless but he does seem to have the ability to shake things off easily. I wonder is would irritate the hell out of any woman he gets? I think he needs a really really dumb woman. A ditz.

Maxx2, thanks for the correction, we have about 1 min difference  :)

yeah, along with senile playfulness  :D

I think he needs a really really dumb woman. A ditz.

As one of my Russian female colleagues would say: "He allredy needs to think about his salvation... "  :D

If he will continue to take these romance tours I think he will not have any problem to find "a really really dumb woman"  ;D

LOL! I do, too! Bob seems to be well aware of the rules of the game. When Alla asked for $$, he dispatched the experience as easily as he planned on going again. He's making the most of the experience.

He seem well-to-do, widowed, kids are all grown up and now he's just living the fun half-part of his life. If Bob didn't have this option today, he'll likely shriver up and die. So yeah, I hope he does well. He's fit, seem to have a great personality, well-dressed, seem to have a good home...based on the total landscape of the MOB, FWIW, he's a great catch for a good 40-45+ old woman.
