Viking,

Bruno gave you the correct link to the English section of the forum. Keep scrolling down until you see the first of three pages of the threads.

If you want to read the Russian forum, you could use this online translator by cut and paste method. I don't have time to do that and keep in mind, this is forum is called "anti-date" so don't be discouraged if you see women that are feminist like instead of feminine but they could have some good ideas to bust the balls of the guy that took Moscowflower's money.   http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

The max varies from $5000 to $7500 depending on the state of the claim.  But Louie may be right as to lawyer representation in small claims being not possible.    Either way,  the guy is probably so far in debt he probably wont pay you much faster then he is now.

Yeah Louie the biggest loss is the disappointment and heartache created by her fiancee.  Sorry again MoscowFlower.

If you can't travel here you may be able to obtain a lawyer in the US to represent you for a percentage of the court settlement.
Whoa!!  I go to training for a couple of weeks and the board has doubled or tripled:shock:

Welcome to RWD MoscowFlower:D

First thing is that small claims courts have a limit which depends on the state the transaction occurred or the person lives in and second is the limit for the judgement is anywhere from $1,000.00 to $2,500.00 (perhaps more depending on the state)

The second thing is that that has already been pointed out is that lawyers are not allowed to represent a person in small claims court.  Now if I was investigating this case I would also look in to the motivation and intentions and see if this subject commited similar acts with others, and  think about fraud or larceny charge of some sort, but all this is complicated by international boundries.

Well that was my two cents, I'm off to supervise some crime

I have had 2 ordeals with small claims, one was for 2,000, and I won the judgement, but the jerk kept appealing the decision, after the 3rd appeal, all I wanted to do was take a baseball bat and knee cap him!! But what i did was to just walk away, sooner or later it will come back to bite him on the back side (I only wish i could see it happen)

Yes, I can travel there - probably it will be cheaper for me than to hire a lawyer to represent myself in a court.  Can i represent myself if I'm not a US citizen? Other problem is that even if I will win my case I won't get much as this man probably has nothing! No properties, no bank accounts and I even wonder if he has any permanent job!  I even thought that he wanted to marry me - so it would be easy for him to apply for bankruptsy as I will be dependant  By the way he is still looking!  I have reliable information that during 2005 he sent many times money and expensive gifts to one russian woman!  Too bad she turned to be a scammer! :)  Could I use this fact in a court?

MoscowFlower,

It sounds like it would be a lost cause to try to get any compensation from this person. He's probably going to continue to get screwed over by others so maybe this knowledge is your best revenge.

Ken

I think the only way to do this is to get some 'friends' from New Jersey, and pay the guy 'a visit'. Lets take advantage of our own local talent. Whadda say? Tony Soprano is still around.

Heck just have a girlfriend start emailing and romance him back to RU.  Have a good police friend to meet him at the airport for 'questioning' regarding a reported fraud.

Should do the trick well..

This quotation doesn't exactly fit my case. I was not scorned but scammed! There is no hatred but disgust. My main intention is not to revenge but to return my money!

Additionaly, do I look like a fury?

Yes, they do, but you look better.  Something about gals who run around with spears that sharp make then look a little less appealing than someone with a more natural, feminine and beautiful look.

I have always been a soft touch for someone with a sob story myself and if I had all the money back I loaned people, employees and friends to help them out of a jam I could spend the rest of the year touring Russia or lounging on a beach whichever sounded better at the time.   Lets see, I have kept houses from being forclosed, recused cars from the repo man, averting backrupcy for people a bunch of times and couldn't take a cab to the airport with the money I have been paid back.

In my early and more nieve days I helped out a few gals in distress, I can recall funding an eye operation that never happened I am sure, and few other medical problems, helped educate a few gals and got a bit of eduction myself in return, but of course no cash.

I think the smartest thing you can do is to make sure you retain the sweet helpful way about yourself and realize how much more expensive it would have been for you had you actaully married the jerk.    That amount of money is serious for anyone but you got off cheap really.  I hope you get it back, but I will be surprised if you ever do.  I wish you luck with your efforts.

Now that I've buttered you up some Turbo I really need to borrow a few thousand dollars to keep my {insert problem here} from {insert excuse here}. Pretty Please!!!

Moscow Flower,

Another method you could use is to hire an attorney in the guys hometown to threaten legal action against him for not repaying the debt.  As you said, you can substantiate the debt from emails and it would freak him out to get a threatening letter from a local attorney.  Many times, just the threat will do the trick regardless if there is any basis to the potential lawsuit.  This action shouldn't cost that much.  In what city is this scumbag living?

Yes, you're so right:  marriage to that guy would be more expensive!  Probably as his wife I would end up paying his debts to his other creditors!  He was hinting few times about the possibility of sale my moscow apartment

I was thinking about that. It's going something about that right now. I just don't want to mention from what city he is from. One day when it will be obvious that he is not going to pay me back my money - then it will be a very big action! I will not only mention his city but also post his name and photos - so if anybody put his name in search engine - they will see all truth about him!

One of the lowest forms of a man is an able bodied "man" who expects his woman to take financial care of him. He must have no respect for himself.

MoscowFlower.

Based upon everything I have read here, I think that your money is long gone and anything he says to you now is just to keep you 'wishing and hoping'.

You may want to consider posting his city, name and photo now. Put him into a male scammers list. He deserves this.

Although it may seem to be a bit of revenge (justified in my opinion) it will also prevent some others from being hurt as well.

A man who gets ripped off by a woman scammer for visa, tickets and so forth is usually pretty fast in letting others know about her.

I don't think that to scam a woman was in his plan at the beginning of our relations. I'm not that old and bad looking to be used J ! Also when we started to date he didn't even know if I have any money. I believe that he really was thinking about family and about his "new business".  After dating him for more than a year he suddenly told me that he is a bankrupt (which i believe he was before we met taking in consideration many "red flags") , but he told me - it won't be long time - he just need to hang on there for a couple months but he doesn't have money to pay for apartment and for new business. Actually it was me who offered him some money - but I didn't even expect that he would ask me to loan him that big ammount of money and won't return it for so long time!

[/b]Maybe he really wishes to pay me this money back but he is still a bankrupt and his "business" is still "just about to go" J ! Maybe in general he is not that bad man J J J
