Hi,
And we would be curious what you think about American men.  Feel free to post summary of your experiences, or a trip report on someone visiting Kemerovo.   Would be interesting to read a trip report from a ladies view
....Looks like you have some snow:

well I try to tell you about my summary experience.  :flowers:

as well as all of you fear scam,  RW have their own fears about men who put out their profile on dating site...

1. of the most common - sex tourists. There is some kinda folk who to give oneself out to be man who looking true love, but they looking only sex. They just to dupe RW. But that kinda cheater not too dangerous. And them easy find out. They always to quick for trip. and they in the first letter to drop on sex.

2.  fellows - "writers or dreamers". They like to send letters. A lot of letters, calls and sms. They like to dream about their great future with his lovely russian wife... to make a lot of plans about what color walls in the nursery how they to name their future kids and so on... but they never come to russia to meet their future "wife". They have so many excuse. It can be burial some close relative, car crash, tsunami, suddenly appears incurable illness or even death.

I read one girl story. She made the acquaintance with one guy. They been in correspondence about one year. And he made a lot of promise to come to her... But he did not. When she ask him when he finally come, he said that he have no money for that trip. She broke up with him, but she lost whole year. She can meet a real man who really looking for real relationship, not virtual online wife.

Other guy just die. His friend sent her letter where he wrote that he die from cancer. It was really big letter where in every detail dude described his last day with her photo in his hand on the hospital. I'll try to find that letter and put out it, if it not break rule this forum. But in a few day happened miracle! that guy rise from the dead and again login on dating site )) She was really surprise and ask her friend to call that guy by the phone. And hid answer to this call. That no less than a miracle. Provided to be in the next world provide Internet and phone...

3. Some of that kinda guys chat with a women at the work time, but have real wife and kids at home. They just eat up women's time for fun.

4.  Other guy from site harmless - they just old mans. you know, I don't mind about it, but they send a msg a younger women. It can be 60 y.o. man who send msg for 20 y.o. woman. There are a plenty of those.

5.  Also there are many people who have some mental problem. They send RW weird msgs in which describe very poor live in Russia and present ourself rescuer and last chance poor RW to have a good live. They offend women and make a bad mood.
They have no idea that maybe that women more educated, have a good job and etc.

6. well known you scammers.

7. And finally real men who looking for a real relationship. They send nice letters, do not mind to come to Russia and will be a right person for someone RW.

I to had to contact with each of this guy )
But I still hopeful to meet my true love ^_^

Technically speaking and using industry jargon - they both pretty much suck out loud.  My question would be... how many of eitherexist?  My guess is that while they are real, and in some numbers (though I am curious about the elusive and indeterminable percentages) there are fewer in both categories than the grapevine of doom would suggest...  the less palatable stories become legendary..

To keep discussions more understandable, it would be best to use the word 'scammer' in its narrow sense and develop another word for problems that men can cause FSU women.

Scammer, as used here, has always referred to FSUW (or FSUM posing as W) who take money from men under some false pretenses.  True there may be some men who take money from FSUW under false pretenses, but the ratio would probably be something like a thousand women scammers to one man scammer.

Not implying at all that women don't have some valid complaints about WM as the OP detailed out; but it downgrades the seriousness of the money scammers by lumping these female complaints under the same term.

Keyboard Romeo has often been used to describe the men who waste the women's time; it seems appropriate to continue this usage in the absence of a better term.

When you has fallen in love with the man and after more than a year you having understood that he only played with you. I think it is more hard than to lose some hundreds dollars.
Awesome story about the dead guy.
This story very popular example on many russian girls web sites  :) But more popular men's step to stop relations it is to cease to write and answer.

Yes, time is worth more than money. Men not only can lose money but their time too. A lot more risks involved with international romance for both men and women but the reward may be worth it.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

The scammers out for money are easy to avoid; you just don't send any or buy anything. They are also fairly easy to spot; the give away is that they ask for money or things and/or set up a situation for you to be the hero coming to the rescue on a bulging wallet. I mean really, how difficult is it ?  :rolleyes2:

On the other hand, time wasters and keyboard romeos can be difficult to spot and can drag out a "relationship" for many months or even years (okay, that's a bit silly) but still, stack up half a dozen 6 month time wasters and that's 3 years gone down the drain. For a woman, in some instances, that could mean the difference between having a baby or not.

Jerra, if I were you, I'd avoid men from the US (or at least don't prioritize them over others). Generally speaking, they have very little vacation time to travel so will be less likely to visit soon or often. The cost is also higher for them so they tend to be more careful before committing. Getting a tourist visa for you to go there to visit will be much more difficult than, say, Europe. Stick to European men, they have usually at least 2x the vacation time to spend, and it's easier for them to travel to you; especially if you're willing to meet halfway in Moscow or Saint Perterberg (like I did with my wife from Arkhangelsk).

Of course, if you find your perfect match, it shouldn't really matter where he is from and I'm sure, no matter where he is, he will go to extraordinary lengths to come to you as often as possible. :)

That is good term for that kinda men. thnks

yep, scammers more easy to avoid, I agree with that. ) Keyboard Romeo more guileful in that cause.

And no, I am not avoid men from US, but also I am not avoid other men as Europe or other location. It is not so important for me where from man is. The more important thing - such as he is and his personal quality.

I herd not just one time about that. that man from US more difficult task to have relationship because it is so far from Russia and entrance/entry visa in US more hard to get...

But I think it is not big deal if we will like each other and realize that we is right person to each other.

Jerra breaks things down to the core issues with such precision that it is scary. Her astuteness is sure to intimidate the run-of-the-mill FSU bride-seeker but she would be a fine match for a man with a well-developed intellect.

Not at all.

http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0922052.html

Cost of airline tickets from the US compared to Europe; let's see, I can get to Arkhangelsk from here with $600. How much will it cost you?

My wife had no problems getting 3 months Schengen tourist visas several times. The wives of my friends, the same. How many FSUW did you date that could say the same about the US?

Seriously. What you can get in the US, you can get in Europe. And it's closer to the FSU and cheaper and quicker to get there. We can go more often. How many more reasons do you need?

One guy from US WI had a trip to Russia to meet me. So that is not impossible. But I agree that trip from Europe more cheaper, spend less time for journey, and tourist visa for russian lady easyly to get.
But international dating not about it. It about not limitation to location at all. and if to think that way, then more easily have dating with local men or women.

Pity that your thread has been hijacked into a discussiion about Pros and Cons of America though  :rolleyes2:

As for pro and cons, I think it is worthy of thought for any woman looking at international relationships.  After all, men are doing the same when they target women in FSU or?

I think one option for the women woried about time wasters is to keep up letters with more than one man at a time. As we say: Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
I do agree with Ade that things are easier for the European men but not sure if it all applies to the women. Anybody can get on a plane and go to Russia. If you find it too inconvient then this game is not for you. I have done it 15 times and trust me - I am not wealthy.
