Also three is really nothing, I have probably contacted over 100 on EM alone, and several hundred on Mamba, and a few more on other sites - you have to screen heavily (and you will be screened also). It takes time so don't get too wound up if a few scammers come your way - just brush them off and get on with your life.

Wow. I am really new to this. I felt bad because I was talking to 3 girls. Like I was leading 2 of them on. I guess I need to change my methods.

I don't know how to multi-quote but as far as the 50% of fatal airline crashes being due to pilot error let me stick up for my fellow pilots. In every accident there is what we call an error chain. A chain of events which leads up to the accident. If you remove any event from the chain the accident would not happen. The pilot may have made one of the mistakes in the chain but the other 9 or so events were completely out of his/her control. As long as the pilot is in there somewhere the accident is blamed on him/her.

You certainly are, but thats actually cute. You shouldnt feel bad about it, girls do that to. In my opinion, when you meet the right girl, it will just click like 'thats what i was looking for' and you probably wont feel you wanna talk to someone else, oh well its my opinion, at least thats how it happened for me and my husband.

Yeah, no one blames pilots. In fact, i still cant believe that pilots are real people! That just seems so so so fascinating! I cant imagine someone would take SUCH a responsibility and be smart enough to know what all those buttons and lights mean, and bу able to pull himself together to make right decision in case of emergency. Thats just great!
I know its like the chain of events, but well it actually doesnt make it any better and if something happens it wouldnt really matter what caused it.  I was just reading about this AirFrance crash of a plane...and it says the weather was bad or whatever and some kind of thing that is supposed to tell you that altitude is too low and something bad is happening was frozen so pilots didnt know if they were falling down - (read it in russian, so no use to give a link or smth) - so what the heck is that??? meh...actually, this stuff is just too difficult for me to understand.
and...is it true that women can be pilots?

Haha. Of course it's true that women can become pilots. I fly with women pilots all the time. Back when I was a flight instructor I had many women students. Maybe if you tried flying you wouldn't be so scared. I use to give introductory flights and I'm sure you could go to your local airport and get one. It use to be $25 for a half hour but it's probably $50 now. You go up with a flight instructor and her shows you how everything works and then lets you fly for a little bit.

 Holy Molly...No, no, no! Please tell me you were kidding! Women cant be pilots...OMG...back in Russia I never even took a cab with a woman-driver. Thats a disaster...disaster...that just ruined my last hope I would survive my Houston-Frankfurt flight. I had no idea...God save me...Do they have to tell me prior to flight if the pilot is a woman?

It's actually kind of great flying with a women pilot. If I make a hard landing everyone assumes the female pilot did it. If she makes a smooth landing everyone assumes I made the landing.

Women cant make decisions in case of emergency! Thats scientifically proven! Jeeeeez...I cant believe it. Its like the second biggest shock in my life, first was when I got to know where babies come from and that was more than 15 years ago.

She got offended and said "What next? Do you want me to send you a photo of me sitting on a refrigerator?" So she is not legit.

I would have told you the same thing.

Now for all we know she may have been a guy writing letters (for money) using someone's photos, or there is a good chance that she could have been a nice lady rightly offended at the assertion that you're questioning her integrity. A way to accomplish the same thing is to include one of yourself in a cafe/park/balcony or whatever and request that she send you an informal photo in one of her favourite settings. I think it is a good rule for addresses and phone numbers too: give yours first, then request her information and never the other way around.

The good news: there are far less scammers out there than there are scamming agencies who use and manipulate both parties. Listen to the others here on selecting a good agency and you'll have eliminated most of the scam scares.

. . . first was when I got to know where babies come from and that was more than 15 years ago.

When I was first told about how babies were manufactured (the true story) . . . I laughed so hard my stomach hurt.  But I was only about 9 years old and wasn't supposed to be hearing this.  Anyway, I just thought it was the most hilarious thing imaginable.

Well I was shocked cuz I was pretty sure one gets like a human seed or smth at the store and then put it to like special machine and when it gets to decent size г just take it out of that place and its your baby! But when my mom told me that 'when mommy and daddy love each other' thing...I was totally grossed out and shocked. But women pilots by far beat it.

Hi to everyone,

I'm an airline pilot living in the United States. I mention this because I can fly to other countries for free, I just have to pay the taxes. So going to meet a girl is not that big a deal for me, I just need the days off to do it. A friend of mine found his wife on Cherry Blossoms dating web site and convinced me to sign up. That site is mostly Asian girls, which I like, but I kind of have a thing for Russian girls. I also like Latin girls and South America because I don't have to deal with the jet lag. But I am getting off topic. Eastern European is my favorite type of woman.

Hi eric and  :welcome:

Lucky you can fly for cheap. Do you still not have to pay flying jump seat?

FYI, my dad was a pilot and instructor of the L1011 with the defunct Eastern Air Lines many, many moons ago. So I know about the stand by passes.  :D Boy, did I travel!!

Good luck in your search and ask away, we'll try to give you some answers.

Thanks Muzh. You don't have to pay to fly the jumpseat but You can no longer jumpseat on international flights. One of those knee jerk reaction things that ALPA is trying to get fixed. Pretty much every airline in the world has gone to the zed fare system so traveling on other airlines international is pretty cheap. It goes by mileage now and its a set rate. It's like buying a standby pass on another airline but it's like $40. There is a max mileage in the zed fare system so the most you would ever pay is like $170 to fly from Australia to the America. Unfortunately you are limited to coach.

One time my dad paid $12.50 for a R/T to JFK and then at the airport I got a book of coupons, free, to fly everywhere Swiss Air flew. :D This was in the mid '70s.

Boy, do I miss those days.

Anyway, welcome.

And many studies have showed that the maximum rate of crash plane happens when there a mixed crew, one man and woman in the cokpit, for this reason for example Transcontinental Eros Airlines went to bankruptcy, you remember this famous company EricDraven ?

LOL. Back in the days... I remember one agency who did a nice trick for a while. They would take a man's picture, one who had recently written to a gal, then printed an oversized image of it and had 'his' woman hold the image to imply she's legit and writing to her and getting to know her should follow immediately.

Of course it cost a nice sum for the ensuing letter exchanges...

Welcome eric..

Anyone notice in the photo, the girl has a wedding ring on ? :)
While it could be anything, it is a fairly traditional plain band on the right hand ring finger

If she's interested in marriage she might want to remove it for the photos..along with the lolipop..
but i doubt  guys notice those bits..

I just found it amusingh is all.. :D

Jumper, jolly right. After you mentioned I went back to that first page and clicked on the photo. http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=14286.0;attach=27353;image

Sure enough, she has a classic wedding band. As usual, no engagement ring from an unsuspecting WM, just a typical yellow band on the right hand as per custom.

Good eye!

 :clapping:

Eric,

Pay attention to Mendy's words.  Also, ManLooking gave you a good list of contact agencies, except he omitted  Elena's Models (EM) as Turboguy mentioned.  EM is a good site for newbies as it provides so much information and costs only $100 for 3 months.

You seem somewhat paranoid about scammers. Have you read the 10 commandments?

http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/index.php?action=ezportal;sa=page;p=34

Scammers usually reveal themselves as such within a few emails.   So relax, and give the women the benefit of the doubt as you get started.  You will have more fun and attract more sincere women.

You will have many questions as you become more involved, particularly when you start planning a trip.  So please return to RWD with your questions.

Now I wonder how many Russian and Ukrainian women out of 100 are really looking for a foreign husband....?

Very few as a percentage of the total population, yet there are enough sincere women to warrant trying if you are indeed interested in marriage (to Ms. Right) and are not looking for someone way out of your league.  Just follow the advice suggested here, particularly about avoiding agencies where you must pay for each email you send.

Very few, certainly less than 1 in 100. However, if you were to ask how many women would consider marriage to a foreign husband if the right man came along, then the numbers would go up quite a bit IMHO.

Sniper,

I'm an Aircraft Engineer, I can assure you that you have nothing to fear, especially with Lufthansa, they have an excellent safety record. It will not matter what type of aircraft you fly, you will get there safely, whether it is Boeing 747-400 or Airbus A380 ))))) or anything else from these 2 companies )))

ericdraven

I would not worry too much about scammers, if you focus on that part of it, you will just become paranoid over time. Abit like having a fear of flying and focusing on what could go wrong, it will eventually take over your life :) All it takes is common sense, think with your head (on shoulders) and try not to do anything too different from what you do at home.  Relax, and enjoy the ride.

Thanks for all the good advice. I didn't see the ten commandments until now, so thanks for that Gator.

I can definitely see that asking for a picture with a sign with my name on it is demeaning. You're to beautiful to be real, you must be a professional model, is not a compliment. I already sent her an apology and explained myself.

I have been checking out ML's list. I kind of like to format of Ukrainedate. I am going to check out Elena's Models as well.
