Cleaning up my Dating Bookmark column on my browser this evening lead me to discovering that some of the places I had bookmarked are no longer running it seems. Check if you want possibly their site address has just changed or for some reason I couldn't get through but these are the ones that seem to have vanished:
- Russian Personals - an Fdate type of clone website but smaller number of ladies where Kherson Girl found me.
- Lucky Lovers - an old video chat site.
- Lifetime Partners - Tver, Moscow
- Cute Only
In addition Russian Cupid is still around but has now been renamed Euro Cupid with the same webpage presentation. I don't know if Mila in Kharkiv is still going or if she is still going lol. She once had a good reputation but not long before the Ukraine War some clients were saying that they were being charged for things they had not been made fully aware off. Anyway the link to her website I had seems to be blocked so who knows.
Mordinson also in Kharkiv I believe seems to have closed down his operation at least for the time being.
In general a lot of time has passed and as owners of these operations get old they cease trading or move onto new things. The war in Ukraine has probably hastened the end of many of these dating sites and agencies. I hadn't used them all but kept the links to some of them just in case I was knocking around their area and they became of use.
I think this means that post war Ukraine and Russia will be an interesting place. There will probably be space for new players on the scene of a dating market that has been vacated by many old names. It will be interesting to see what gets established and who the new players will be
