Housing in Dnepropetrovsk
« on: March 13, 2006, 08:48:15 PM »
I am planning a trip to Dnepr in June and was looking for some affordable housing.  I was there in December an stayed at an apartment through the agency.  It was OK but way overpriced.  I was wondering if anyone had any contacts there that could find me one through a local.  I was looking to stay three weeks to a month.  I would like to be able to cook a real dinner on a stove instead of having a hot plate.  Thanks for any help.  Also does anyone know where I could get a map of the city and maybe a tourist attraction guide?

Chris,

If you are interested,  I know a lady who lives in the area who is a professional interp.

She is good, but doesn't work for free. Her rates are reasonable.

I am unsure about needing an interpeter at this pont but it can not hurt to have one ready.  I used Cindy Agency last time I was there and they were very good for the most part.  They only charged $5.00 an hour also.  You would not happen to know if this woman would have know of finding to rent a long term apartment would you?

This interpreter lives in the area, and knows the landlords in the area of Dniper.  This interpreter usually charges a daily rate...from wakeup until sleep...a flat fee. Oh yes, and traves to wherever you want to go.

They can also meet you at the airport and take you back to Dniper.

I've noticed that in Dniper, the breakeven point with renting short term vs. long term was about 2 weeks.  If you rent short term for 14 days, this costs almost about the same as renting for the whole month.  Just a rule of thumb.
