Why go on and on about BillyB's marital status when you're not prepared to prove your own?

For what it's worth, I'm quite happy to believe that you are married, without documentary proof or seeing the wedding video, in the same way that I'm happy to believe that Billy, calmissile, Patagonie, Gator, Daveman, The Natural and all the other supposedly married members are, in fact, living in a state of connubial bliss.

It seems hypocritical that you're prepared to believe in these other marriages, without any proof, yet you won't extend the same courtesy to BillyB.

The pope could be looking Ade square in the eyes and telling him he performed the marital ceremony and Ade would still deny it.  Remember some people still believe Elvis is alive.  Billyb made him an offer and he slinked away hissing and moaning.

You have done a very good job of exposing some of the rot within Ade's 'point of view'...that is all that we can do...everybody can see that now.  So he alone believes that BillyB is not married....because that is what he wants to believe....looking at the situation from where I'm at, it just looks like nothing more than crabs in a bucket.

I'll tell you something I really find difficult to believe; that someone your age can look so damn ancient. Most MOBers spin the line that they look 10 years younger at least. You on the other hand have to say you look 20 years older. You sure you're not lying about your age?

Well Ade,  it does appear that your fruitless obsession to discredit Billyb's marriage is short circuiting logic completely...He provided you a way to 'stick it to him'which clearly you are trying to do....but instead you are tiptoeing away.  It appears the consensus is that you have developed an irrational dislike and that overrides a normal thought process.

Regarding my age:  If I cared, I could show you a birth certificate, but you would claim it to be counterfeit.  So it is ok if you would like to think of me as a 65 year old.  It is strange, but I don't mind..it is kinda funny actually.

Actually, AnotherKiwi,

I could care less whether BillyB is married or not.  I am very happy for him in his relationship.  My observation was simply that he has been using his lack of proof of being married to tantalize Ade and others here on the forum for a long time.  So rather than indulge him, I'll just treat him as in a relationship and living together.  No big deal.

It does quite remind me of the situation with Jay where a couple of members assailed him for never proving that he had gone to Ukraine, when, I, in fact, could prove he had been there - and more than once.  Jay was so infuriated with having his word assaulted that he denied his accusers the satisfaction of making him produce the 'evidence'.  And he rejected me from producing said evidence.

Were I to show pictures of a woman that I married, I would certainly stand behind that marriage and you would be able to clearly see that she was wearing a wedding ring.  But I fully understand why Billy would be loathe to produce such a picture after being so abused on this topic and for so long a period of time.

If there is to be some wager, do not make it for an outspoken amount of money, but something that clearly embarrasses the loser to not indulge in such behavior in the future.

Having read these forums for over a year now, I can readily understand someone's reluctance to post information on such a forum and sometimes question the sanity of those that do.  It has been proven, again and again, that information consigned to an internet forum can be used against you - again and again.  Billy should be congratulated because he is willing to step up and show aspects of his life that do not need to be shared, but he does so out of pride and a willingness to assist others.

Jon,

You are assuming that the losing party would be embarassed.  Not likely I think.  The incentive to pick up an easy $5K should be enough motivation for someone to put their money where there (loud) mouth is.

Hey Jone!

I agree with vast majority of your post as it seems reasonable enough...Posters like billyB are rare in their willingness to open up their lives to a large extent...a few people take cheap shots...but I'd say that most people enjoy the insights and the sharing of HIS experiences, and willingness to be helpful.

And guess what?  In May 2013 Larry1 surveyed the RWD members, asking them "Whose posts do you make it a point to read?"  The survey reported BillyB as the second most read poster, behind Mendeleyev and just ahead of Lily.

I  stop by about once a month and  make it a point to read BillyBs post in this thread, not because I think there is any insight full information. But simply for the immense entertainment value. It is a lot light watching a soap opera , or TLC's Strange Addictions.

http://www.tlc.com/tv-shows/my-strange-addiction/videos/glow-in-the-dark-boobs.htm

But I have only seen 3/4 of one episode of Strange Addictions, not sure I care to watch another one.

People who feel risk aversion and look at life as a collection of destinations will never understand people who are risk takers and look at life as a journey.
People like BillyB, my husband, KenC, and Gator, they are not intimidated by risk and can enter into a relationship that theoretically and intuitively are of a higher risk of failure. They are rather indifferent to risk considerations because  they are focused on the pleasurable sides of the relationship that a "safe" partner would not provide for them.  Even if the relationship eventually fails, risk takers are fine with that and easy to rebound.
Thank you for your kind observation.  Kind of funny to me that you mention me after this long.  LOL  As far as evaluating my marriage with Lena; I can say the rewards were well worth the risks.  But one has to also be able to recognise that there is more substance to the relationship than just good looks and youth being traded for financial security and visa.  I know that Lena and I never regreted our 10+years together.  Each relationship is unique.
You are also correct in the ability to rebound.  I have been happily married to a wonderful Chinese (age appropriate) woman for almost 2 years now.  She teases me about how I should be with a younger woman.  I always answer "not again in this life time."

Great to see you Ken... and even better to hear that your new relationship is obviously going well!  I think your point about what one must be able to recognize  is absolutely key.

Your mistake is in the quantity. You can trade 1 woman of 40 for 2 of 20.  ;D

Jay,
No amount of meds will save you from two 20 yo RW at one time.
Now, I do reccomend a guy marry a 20 yo at least once in his life (or twice if he's lucky. 8)  Have a buddy that married THREE 19 year olds (none of them Russian)

KenC, good to see you back around.

And WOW, you are now probably learning Mandarin or Cantonese.

Those three tones out of one word are a killer!

Anyway . . . I still contend that the best women in bed are those over age 35.  Not all of them, of course, but many of them are far superior to those in their 20s.

God help you if that is/was your criteria for picking a mate.  However, I think you're wrong any way.  The BEST woman in bed, is the one you love.
