Hi all! Some news!
With medical check i was not so lucky and they said i need more tests (this extra tests took 6 weeks). Just yesterday all tests was finished (im ok and healthy) and they have sent it to Sydney. I don't know how much time we have to wait a visa.  Hope not more than 2 months.

We are late for our wedding (23th Feb) and changed date for April. But in 2 weeks we'll go to Thailand to meet each other!!!!

can i ask what was the extra medical test you needed to have done that took 6 weeks ??it wasnt for  TB by any chance ??  did you have to go back to the medical clinic each day for a 16 min sputum test/throat swab ??


im guessing here , but this is avery common way for clinics to make extra money , if there is any sign on your first medical visit of a cold /flu when you attended , ??  being in the colder months it is very common to have a snuffy nose or slight chest cough etc,  if you had any of those type of syptoms ?/they will ask for a further tests ,

have you spoken with your case officer olly ?? did you check they ahve all other information complete and final from you that they need ?

if all your docs are ok , and all completed , i dont think you will wait too long , id be thinking about 4-8weeks maximum , but it is only a calculated guess olly , going on what you have told us ,

dont think you will wait until june ,if all else is good and ok  im sure it will be sooner , think end of feb /march more likely

Yes, you are right, it was tests for TB. I lived in Moscow 4 days and visited Med/center every morning.

The officer got all what she asked from us. Medical tests was finished and sent. I hope it is all what they need.

this is a pretty usual way for clinics to make extra money olly, they are actually following the australian immigration medical guidelines , but it is a really technical way to do it ,

eastern europe is considered a high risk country for TB ,  thing is the clinics , will know at your first medical you dont have TB , as it will show up in chest xrays ,blood tests etc, however if you had any small sign of the snuffy nose or chest cough , usual with a winter flu, at your first medical they use this as away to make extra money while they already know you dont have TB ,

BY LAW at your first medical if they find anything of medical significance , they are required to tell the applicant if it is serious ,

IT IS WHY ID STRONGLY RECCOMMEND  if anyone has any signs of a cold or flu , delay the medical until all signs of the flu or cold are gone , it can save you 6-12 weeks of waiting for reports etc, to move you file forward

the clinic will then request you come back each morning , usually for 3 consecutive days & take sputum /throat swabs , this then becomes a 6- 12 week lab path culture  for TB , the report is done and sent to immigration ,
your case file  sits and waits unil the report is accepted and cleared in australia , this usually results in a delay in a visa grant of about  8-12 weeks ,

so olly if you calculate approximatly 12 weeks maximum from the date of your last throat swab test, this will give you an approximate idea of when to expect some news about your visa grant , it could be sooner, but dont make plans around that ,

its not a gaurantee of course , but if all else is complete, it will give you a good timeline to follow , & of course contact your case officer, to follow it up as well

always pays to check and re check imho

the waiting and lack of information they give you makes it a very difficult time ,
hang in there , you are almost at your first win point , lol

All documents are ready now! Tomorrow I will send it to Moscow embassy. I am so happy! Congratulation us!!!

 sorry to say , but it is very usual for embasy staff to lose some paperwork then ask again for it ime

at least they admitted they had lost it ,

olly , im sure you have already checked but is your police certificate still current ? if it is older than 1 year since it was issued they will ask again for a new one , check your dates on the certificate


im sure you will get good news soon , as you say at least they are workinG on it ,

All is going very slow! They want me to get one more Xray. Will go to Moscow again next week.

seems like you have got the slowest officer from hell on your case

have you had much infomration from the case officer ? has your fiancee contacted them at all to ask wth is going on ?? as i would have by now

No, my diagnosis was pneumonia after a strong flu
