I am repeating comment I have posted previously.  On video chat on the notorious sites--especially out of Odessa-- you may well be seeing a video tape .The Girl may come in once a week to do an hour or more( only maybe)  and the tape is run. It may well be a guy doing the chatting!! When you realise that he could be chatting in multiple places at once( up to 10) -- you get an idea of the $'s coming in--it is serious money. Girls are paid something - but have to do little work in fact and get some of the other benefits mentioned upthread.
The other big one-- using photos( sometimes without permission - sometimes by not withdrawing profiles) that my be paid something for the use-- but a girl may or may not understand how they are used . You may be chatting to a girl,but it could well be a guy!!

 but not audio, you can see the person typing and reactions to typed messages or speaking with *cough* co workers in the next booth..lol


those agencies do all have telephone/chat as well,similar to skype,
 i never used that ,but can not  imagine why if you can see them in real time video in typed chat, you wouldn't see the same in audio chat.

Excuse me, perhaps i don't understand this in the proper manner as i am not a native speaker. I make the difference between a chat and a video (like Skype). You can also have a Skype session with chat. But the purpose of a video session is to speak. You talk to the other and he talks to you, correct ? So it seems me very difficult to hide the bottom of your face. You need to adjust the camera, it makes any sense.
It makes a sense yes if you put behind the person (fake) an interpreter) for money reason.
But normally, in my opinion, you understand very quickly if the lady you are talking on the video is the one you are seing (in accordance with photo's profile you have choiced). And you don't necessarely want to  have an interpreter on a video session.

(yes the technology is out there for sites to use  fake /simulated vid,
 but at this time they do not do this, they hire real people to chat , it isn't that hard for them to do)

generally it is initially a one way chat.

The guy see's *svetlana, anastasia, oxana* on video,
She can not see him, they can not hear each other only type messages.
Yes he can see (if observant) If its a *taped* bit ..
as he can see exact reactions to messages
but he'd have to invest in the chat long enough to do so.

He would also quickly see that she was using a translation program.. and that she likely has several chat windows open at once, she is only responding to text messages in chat,, she cant see the men,but it isnt hard to juggle a few if even slightly skill full.

Yes many of these agencies offer voice chat as well now.

but i do know, quite first hand in the FSU,  exactly how it works in the majority of cases.

The majority of times the girl (not a translator) is sitting at home, or more likely at the agency with many other girls.

All the girls work at video/text chat and/or letter writing.all of them.
They make very good money for a provincial city, $800 to $1500 USD a month dependent on hours worked.
There are plenty of ads in the FSU hiring for this.

They may or may not have any plan to meet any man.They may or may not be married or live with boyfriends.As far as the one way *text* chat they certainly almost always are the women in the profile, and use computer software translation most of the time as its text chat.90% of their customers are admittedly married men, or men from Arabic countries that have no intentions of visiting, and only want to chat with a cute girl.
They generally work given shifts for a given market, as USA time, or Australian, etc,  relates to their location.They often have other full time quite normal jobs they can easily work around the odd hour agency shifts.
They can get i some serious hot water with the agency for contacting a man off the website. Its not good for the business after all and the agencies are often owned by some pretty heavy hitters money wide in their cities. Most have no inclination to contact a man away from her job  anyway.
It's a good full or part time job, they are no angels but arnt the devil himself either.

The real issue here, as I understand things, is the disclaimer that the women may be being paid for the conversation.  Pardon the following analogy, but it seems appropriate.

If you go into a titty bar, you know, for certain, that you are paying a woman to 'dance' for you.  You have no illusions that she is going to go home with you and become your fantasy girlfriend.

The advertising that occurs now on TV and by the chat sites all state that the women are there to find husbands.  They are 'coached' on what to say, how to say it and never to disclose that they are getting paid.

If this were a Western Country, there would be some type of mandatory disclosure. Maybe I am too idealistic, but we put warning labels on every type of service and merchandise here in the United States.  Many of these women have no intention of doing anything remotely similar to that which is advertised.

The real problem here is that most of the men talking to these ladies would not want it disclosed, publicly, that they are actively searching for a wife or girlfriend on the internet.  So there is a problem bringing the whole sordid situation to light.

One of the guys on these fora was using an agency and asked me to check out the woman he was ready to marry. He was suspecting that even though she had told him that she was committed to him, she was still chatting with other men and continued looking around. So I registered with this agency site, payed the fee and requested (paid for) her contact details so that I could write to her and see if she was still available. Well she responded pretty quickly stating that yes, she was single and available (while the guy was just about the K-1 for her). He wanted me to continue exchanging messages with her so I would log in a couple of times a day. Every time I was logged in I would get a chat request from cute young girlies. They would say something like: "Hi, I really like you and want to get to know you better!".  I wanted to learn a little more about this scheme so I replied with something like: "Hi, what is it that you likes about my profile?" Long story short, they all told me that they haven't actually seen my profile and didn't even have a clue what agency site I was on. They didn't know that they had a profile on that site either. So I think that this video thing is a stand along business that supplies video feeds to many agency sites for a fee or a percentage of profits. They also supply content, i.e. their model's pics and profile details to all these agencies.  IMO the whole thing is a scam because it's a job for these women and yet it is being advertised as if these women are looking for a foreign husband. It's a complete waste of time and a lot of money since these chats are pretty expensive (I worked with the guy who spent $3K in one month on A-date on this sort of thing). I'd say that about 90% of FSU women have Skype. When we contact them for the first time a good number of them want to chat over Skype right away because they want to make sure that the guy is for real and is who he says he is. There are scammers (men) who take advantage of single RW and the women are aware of that and are trying to be careful.

The affiliates feed the big agencies,
the women working do not always know what site the man logged in from, and not know all their profiles..but they are far moe clued in than they wil suiggest with you just randomly chatting a few times

The agency they work at will be XYZ agency an *affiliate* of the big ones,which many times has no place or means for a man to actually meet anyone. and sometimes contracts that meeting *if it comes up* to other local agencies or affiliates that do have drivers flat rentals  etc.
its a huge business in lots of cities.

Yes, he dumped her. She was dishonest with him and while she was telling him that she would marry him and she was committed to him she was asking me to come to Ukraine to meet her. But just from reading her letters I could tell she wasn't stable psychologically, a real fruit cake... The guy was in love with her though so it took him a couple of minutes to finally realize that enough is enough. He is very lucky that he didn't marry her. That would be a train wreck on steroids!

Jumper has explained and added to what my previous post says--- there are many variations-- whatever anyone wants to say about legitimacy I can make a counter point explanation--there are many variations that a guy can run into--it is possible to spend a lot of money heading for a dead end.
  The best profiles can earn up to twice Jumpers top end estimate-- and that is 10 times per month what most earn in ordinary jobs  -- that is a HUGE incentive for a girl to be involved-- from actually doing herself to "lending" her profile.
  There are some very serious connections to the industry,agencies etc-- not all-- but there non the less.
  Given all the above is the case( & more!!) -- some girls may still be possible-- to specific guy in specific circumstance that is probably not much different to dating at home-- and that is the catch-- wrong guy,wrong circumstance,wrong girl-- all = no hope!!

TO SUMMARIZE THIS THREAD - AND THE INTENT OF IT:

1.  The pictures of the women that you see on the internet are substantially doctored.

2. There is no evidence that the person on the other end of the conversation is the person in the pictures.

3.  Some women can be there in person, and have a translator talking directly for them or have multiple conversations ongoing at the same time (obstensively to make more money).

4.  Even if there is a video attached to the individual on the other end of screen, there is no evidence that she is not being paid to talk to you.

5.  Finally, because women are being paid to talk to the men, even if she is real and even if she indicates interest, who is to say she isn't getting paid money to talk to other men and she is just leading the man on?
