I noticed from a review of the threads Chipmonk has, let's say quoted Ronin's work, that he has not responded to the post after.

Easy there Maxx,

Don't blow a gasket!  jb asked a qualifying question which I was wondering about too.  Now we know.  Oops, or maybe we don't know.  Which makes jb's question even a better one.  For what it is worth, too many people blindly accept what is posted here as gospel without questioning the source IMO.

I was serious about what I said, but I meant to say it with good humor as I am not peeved with anyone. Ronin is just writing in generalisations. It is like saying Minneapolis, Minnesota is a safe place. True it is, but not all the time. We have our drive-by shootings too.

I suspected this was a cut/paste job. Sounds like Ronin, but Ronin is already registered here so he's got no reason to post under an alias (doesn't sound like his style anyhow-to post under aliases). It is curious that Chipmonk has not returned to defend his position, but then again, if he couldn't come up with an original thought to start, how could he elaborate :noidea:.

Wow, I didn't realize the doctors sucked so much elsewhere in the country. I have never had problems like what has been stated. When I go see my doctor, it is usually within 5 minutes of the actual appointment, and it last for 15 to 20 minutes and answers any questions I have. I go every year for a physical, and all the results are sent to me within 3 to 5 days, and he would call me if there was anything unsual, even higher than normal cholesterol. Also never heard any of my friends or family complain about their "American" doctors. I've experienced the Ukrainian doctors and health care, and would not trust my life with them or their system.

I suspect that folks with city doctors have worse experiences.

Not necessarily true.

Where do you think the best doctors in the world are going to reside? Podunk, Iowa? Or Manhattan?

I think most people's problem with doctors is that they bemoan the lack of face time, which doesn't always relate to the quality of care.

If you have the training and resources, your time will be in great demand.  If lacking these things, what else do you have to offer but "face time?"

My main problem with doctor is the waiting time...

Usually, i go in.. say my symptom... maybe a few analyse if needed... and the doctor say what i have and make the prescription... all together take 5 to 10 minute...

But some people feel the need to explain the full life to the doctor and stay 30 until 60 minutes... they never think about the 50 other people who are really ill and who wait several hours...

For explain the story of your life, please, don't use doctor... priest are made for this...

When I was in college I played on my school's ice hockey team. I had  several serious back injuries but like an idealistic fool I would  always return to to the lineup before I'd healed. Eventually I ended up  in traction, unable to walk. My orthopedist was one one of the coldest,  most taciturn men I've ever met. He'd rarely have more than a few  sentences to say to me, and his answers to my questions were short and  blunt. I considered changing doctors but one of the nurses told me he  was the best orthopedist in the state. Eventually he performed a  laminectomy and a diskectomy on me. Almost everyone I know who's had  this procedure has chronic problems, but I'm happy to be able to say  that I still play ice hockey against guys half my age and have no  problems.

Since then, if I want sympathy for an illness I'll turn to family and  friends. I could care less if my doctor has the bedside manner of Josef  Mengele, as long as he's good at the important stuff.

Customer service is MUCH better in podunk IA.

The difference between California and Utah or Idaho DMV's is amazing, for example.

People are treated like a number in the megopolis type cities.

Back to the original topic of this thread, I read through this yesterday and found so many similarities to my current situation that I had to respond.  I find that the stronger my response to my wife's arguments, the quieter she gets.  On the other hand, if I am silent then her arguments build in intensity and frequency.

I wonder if this is a cause or the results of the high occurrence of DV in Russia?  In other words, do the RW always start arguments until they back their RM into a corner and force him to use his physical strength to regain the traditional control in the relationship?  Or maybe RW who are victims of past DV fear that all men will become violent with them so they try to test the limits before really committing to the relationship?

Its certainly an interesting dynamic to study for a psychologist, but far less interesting for a AM just trying to make a marriage last.

I don't know if I buy your theory on DV effecting RW's behavior.  I think their toughness comes from a survival type mentality formulated from years of struggles.  RW are tough, there is no doubt about it.  I have always marveled at their ability to maintain an air of femininity and yet still be strong.  It seems like a paradox, but most guys married to a RW would understand it.

There was  a guy over ay RWG named happiness.  He found evidence on his fiancee's computer that she had a girl friend  ghost writing for her back in Russia to other men and she was getting  reports on who were the best possibilities. Then there was other stuff  on the PC that was insulting about this guy (happiness).  We tried to warn him but he blew us off. My guess is he went and married her anyway. So happiness, is that guy from RWG you???
