hello
« on: June 08, 2013, 05:47:41 PM »
I have been communicating with a woman from Ukraine for 7 months that I like very much. I am looking for help so this relationship can continue. Dating was always hard for me in my own country, so this takes it to a whole new level. I am very shy.

Not the most auspicious beginnings, to be sure :-\. Good luck, and welcome to RWD.

Welcome to the forum.  Shyness should not be an issue, but when you meet this woman, it is imperative you project confidence.
After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten

I visited her in March. We had a few dates. I have been learning Russian. The distance is very hard to deal with, it is nothing like learning about someone who you can see in person regularly.

You can turn this Skype sessions into on-line language lessons, but they'd have to be much more frequent, of course.     ;)

Why are you skyping only once a month?

John, I am going through the same thing. I am also shy. We skype everyday for 30-60 minutes which helps. It is nice to see her and know she is waiting everyday at 8pm(her time).  Just ask her for a "skype date"..... then each day...ask for another one.

So which one is it?   ;)

Try to explain to your lady that translator ain't gonna be around all the time and if she is serious about your relationship she's gotta take matters in her own hands sooner or later.   And those talks don't have to be neither too long nor too complicated either.

Are you paying for the translator?

A translator shouldn't cost very much in Ukraine.  How much are you paying for an hour?
