Contacting many women through a site like Vkontact would probably work.  Making friends with some expats that could hook you up with a something like a friend of their girlfriend could work.  Just wondering the streets and trying to strike up conversations would be something I would be highly skeptical of.  In the USA that can be done.  I had a fair number of waitresses, salesgirls in stores and people I ran into that I dated at one point in my life but in Russia I can't say I even ever had all that much luck getting into conversations with random ladies.   I can recall the last tour I was on when two well above average guys decided to buy 144 roses and went out into the street passing them out to random pretty girls in an attempt to snag one and they came up empty.

Spamming in Vkontacte always works for sure. Met many nice girls and If your in a big city chances are you will not need to spend a fortune taking them out as many have pretty good jobs, well enough not to be trying to screw you for stuff. Despite what I write about Ukrainian women I have met some good nice normal Ukrainian women via Vkontacte in Russia. Tours are not the modern way to meet women, they are old fashioned and prehistoric! I really cannot understand why any guy would want to attend a tour.
There was a very good documentary a while back about US guys going on a romance tour, Im not knocking all US guys but there are a fair few hill billies living there especially down south ( I was married to my Brit wife in Miami and have spent much time all over the US) they come to the age when mother tells them "its about time you got yourself a wife " says the mother to her son who's been living at home till the age of 40 and has never travelled further than his state let alone overseas to a war zone like Russia. So what does he do? Signs up to some tour, packs his bags with the latest aftershave and heads off to save some poor Russian women from a life of depravity, and return home with his beautiful "Russian bride" Its how a big percentage of guys imagine it.

I tend to agree with you about tours.  Back in the 90's tours were probably a great way to go if you were willing to take a woman who was a good match and not the hottest, prettiest women you could get.   Russia back then was in shambles.   Many speculated Russia would go bankrupt.   Lots of people in Moscow were earning a few hundred a month and pays were often 6 months late.  In 98 the banking system collapsed and most with any savings lost them.  There were lots of women who would do anything to get out of the terrible life there. 


There was little internet in Russia, booking hotels and flights were a nightmare.  Often if you were writing women from catalogs you had no idea where those cities with the goofy names were.  You would have three women that you were snail mailing with and really liked and when you looked on the map one was in Kalingrad, one in Vladivostok and one in Simverpol.  A round trip on a letter took 6 weeks.  Paying a few thousand and meeting lots of women made a lot more sense and women were desperate enough to grab hold of any live body even if he was fat, ugly and 30 years older than them.  The tours had an immigration attorney right on the tour so you could wrap it up in one trip.  All the hassle of travel, rooms and visas were taken care of.  The big problem is that although most could get a hot wife the odds of them divorcing as soon as the permanent Green Card arrives was astronomically high.



Then the economy started to get better, scammers found that there were lots of naive gullible first timers on the tours so they could go and run a pretty nice scam for a while.  The serious women were not hot and the hot ones were not serious.  Guys are a sucker for a hot woman and many think throwing money at them is the way to lure them in.


The only place I see for tours is for someone who has not traveled internationally it is comforting to have someone make the arrangements and some buddies to swap notes with.  I had a blast on all my tours and made some friends I still have today.  One tour with low expectations just to feel your way along may still be ok for some guys but as a way to meet a serious woman, nah, the odds are not good.


There was only one tour that I thought was good and the owner just passed away so I doubt they will be continuing and if they do they won't be the same.  I don't know much about Mark Davis tours but they might be ok and would probably be the best choice for someone who really wanted to do a tour.

Often local advertising consists of "dress your best for free drinks and food while dancing with American/British businessmen" themes. Very little mention of marriage or at the least it might be mentioned but usually downplayed. So the ladies come prepared for face control and are dressed to kill, the sponsor makes signing up for their agency and posing for a couple of photos as part of the girls "price" of admission, and the ladies come out for a good night on someone else' kopek. Some are married and just out for the evening; they all are there for a good time which means the free food and drink with the chance to practice English but in most cases probably doesn't include ole Charlie getting laid before the triple by-pass.

Meanwhile the men enter the banquet halls/restaurant all impressed at the quality of the women supposedly looking to be rescued by a Western husband.

Other than that, I supposed that tours can be pretty darn dandy.

Obviously this person has not read the terms of service of this forum.  Had he done so, he would realize that repeated advertisements are not allowed.  Moreover, there are ways to introduce yourself as a service provider that were not followed.  There are plenty of people offering their services here on this forum.  Why should you be able to advertise freely and they can't?

To see your repeated and duplicate posts here on the forum only makes me disdainful of your service and makes me realize that if you can't follow the instructions or ask advice of the moderators, you surely can't provide the exceptional service that users of this forum deserve in your chosen field.

I could allege that the taxi driver at Heathrow was  an  English thief  for what he tried to charge me to go 3 kms from Heathrow--how many times do you need to hear that?

Well, at least my spelling isn't that bad.     

You may have missed the point.  First taxi told me the fare was 50 grivna.  I refused and went to an adjacent taxi and offered him 40 grivna.  To my surprise he said no, 30 grivna is the fare.  My math was OK with me.  I saved 10 grivna.

I agree with Turboguy and the others: if you're going to take a tour do it with Jack Bragg at FirstDream, and avoid AFA and Anastasia.

The last I looked the website was gone and as far as I know the FirstDream tours are history.   I think with Jack gone I would suggest that anyone avoids a tour.  Jack had the only one worth participating in.
