As for a tour, you may have more success booking a holiday tour with a normal tour operator as one where you are accompanied by the slightly older (about 50 years) men who look much younger as their age (about 60 years).

I am not so sure I agree with you about the age of other guys on a typical tour Shadow.  The 4 tours I was on had a mix of ages from late 20's to mid 50's with an occasional older one.  In Jack's case he usually is pretty selective about who he takes and won't generally accept someone older than his usual crowd.  Actually he would not have taken me except that my son was going and I was going mostly for support and Jack sorta segregated me and did a special set up for me with the older women rather than have me in meeting women who he felt were to young for me.

When I first saw my husband-to-be I was shocked! Quite shebby pants (with a STAIN! :D ), old snickers, old shirts, stupid baseball hat (old too) I thought, "What a jerk!"  :D
No presents at all except he took this hat from his head,"It is for your younger son". Again,"What a jerk!"))))))))))
He did not do it on purpose- he just doesn't care how he looks like.
Why I am writing it- his look was absolutely opposite to his "finances".

While not 100 percent the case, I think you have learned by now that this is typical for quite a few American men.

I am not filthy rich, but people would never guess my net worth by how I typically dress and what I drive.  But I can 'clean up' nicely when needed!!!

And there are the stories such as Sam Walton's who regularly drove to town in an old pick-up truck and had morning coffee with local farmers and labor workers; dressing and looking just like one of them.

But old 'snickers?'  There is usually an expiration date on the wrapper of this candy bar.

Sorry for humor . . . the footwear is 'sneakers.'

Okay so what did you expect to happen? You sent a dozen emails with your fifty questions and they would all suddenly fall to the ground with their panties off and legs in the air to skype with you? Is that the 50's attitude you speak of?

There hasn't been any 50's attitude anywhere since well, the 50's. If you're seeking a woman that will iron your shirts, clean your house, keep her mouth shut, not spend your money and blow you at will, you really need to rethink FSUW. They are not starving your attention, your money or your seed. They (for the most part) certainly are not stupid and they have noticed the same things wrong with you that American women have. You don't get a free pass for your inadequacies. These are real women lbk, they require the same motivators and buttons pushed that all other women do.

Apparently, you haven't drawn the interests of the women and that onus is on you. You need to do something different from what you are doing. Re do your profile, your intro letter or just change your whole schtick

50's attitude? You mean scared of neighbours listening to deliver you to the KGB, working for the Good Of The Motherland and because your husband returned from the Great Patriottic war alcoholic, if at all ?

On this one, you are mistaken.  Alcoholism was fairly rare among that generation.  It it later, after Khrushchev released 3 million from military service, and particularly during the Brezhnev years, that alcohol abuse became common.

If you found gold diggers a problem in America, you will have issues in the FSU.  You, as a foreigner, are more apt to encounter gold diggers than would the average local male.  Failed ones at that, I will add, as they haven't snapped up a local wealthy man.

I have a recommendation for you, lbkguy.

I would suggest you schedule a 'Vacation' to an Eastern European destination.  Find yourself a nice interpreter.  Don't plan on going to meet women, but instead, plan on going to find the culture of the area.  The only twist that I would throw in, is have the interpreter be one of the professionals that you find on this board, so you will be indoctrinated into how the dating process works over there.

If, as you become acclimated, you decide to indulge your desire to meet an Eastern European lady, then your TERP will be perfectly positioned to introduce you.

But remember, dating over there is pretty much the same as dating over here.  The difference is that when you date here in the US, it does not cost you a plane ticket, hotel cost and TERP fees that are the entree into this dating world.

As a note, I had gone over to Russia and Ukraine 8 times before I decided that I wanted to start dating Eastern European women.  I have a great love of Eastern Europe, speak some Russian and know its history.

I realize that I am going to sound like a 'colonial' by saying this, but I would recommend Robert Service's "A History of Modern Russia" before you would ever choose to make a trip.

Good luck.  You have plenty of time to get your feet wet and then make a good decision.

I have a friend whose father grew up in Germany after WWII.  Despite the fact he has a net worth of over $50 million, all in highly liquid, non capital gain taxed (managed so that he is tax neutral at year end) assets, he goes through alleys and streets with a garbage bag, picking up used soda cans.

Sorry for humor . . . the footwear is 'sneakers.'

The father of the man I used to work for was the typical. Aside from inheriting a huge, successful construction business, he also inherited a plot of land in Bel-Air back in the days before the 405 freeway. The story went that the State 'bought' the land where the freeway now sits with the caveat that the State were to provide an exit that would eventually lead to his private driveway so he can then develop an access to their mansion atop the hills instead of solely relying entry through Sunset Blvd. For years there was an exit called 'Chalon Road' from both the N/B and S/B freeway which bled to Sepulveda Blvd but really went nowhere until the Getty folks recently changed it to give way to the Getty Museum. The driveway was never constructed due to environmental reasons.

The point was, this man literally wore the same corduroy pants (he probably own just 2 pairs) with worn-out moccasins and a polo shirt. You would have never known how rich his guy was both by his demeanor and an adoring, very humble personality.

One extreme sample of another story is the story of a rather *popular* bag lady in Sta Monica. I say popular because anyone who had lived in Sta Monica had seen and have known of this lady. Typical of 'homeless' folks that used to litter the city of SM, she always pushed a shopping cart full of her wordly belongings and she always sported red lipsticks that were always just 'painted' all around her lips.

Anyway, apparently when the lady died one sad day, the news reported she was worth millions that her siblings had since been fighting over. Not sure of the details but it was revealed why she would always be seen walking into one of the bank branch along Wilshire Blvd. and I'm sure much to the dismay of the bank manager and its customers...

Objects....mirror....aren't always what they seem to appear as...

You seem to deny that 29 million people died?
And perhaps you are also not believing that soldiers received a daily ration of 100g vodka before going in to battle, to be able to handle the atrocities.
While 100g by itself is not much, the effect of it being fed daily during extended period should not be underestimated.

More often it wasn't vodka, but straight "medical" alcohol.

They certainly were. Strange thing my grandfather always said he had no illnesses during the war. Lice, blisters - yes, sure but no cold, no stomach ache, no migraines...he thought it was because of that 100g.

Yes, and what I was told was that it was a daily ration of 100g and if they were to do battle later in the day, the soldiers at the front were then given 200g.
