Reeeeeally??????Yea, maybe around 30 years ago. No charts needed here.....
Not only in the factories but vehicles running around resemble chimney stacks with thick black smoke coming out. No AQMD's in Ukraine.
BTW, any other cities that change their gasoline formula between winter/summer ??

Yes Reeeeeally !! My comment was "have seen" ---  so perhaps you can read again what I said and in the context it was written.

To make the point to all and sundry--- the visible pollution is not what defines the degree of pollution in any given area--it will certainly draw your attention to it.
The technical data overrules the anecdotal "evidence"  and I do not doubt that pushing  the idea that it is unsafe to visit the area is what I question.

Jeez

I wonder what goes through the women's mind when they makes contact with men who are scared of their own shadow.

Agreed-- it makes you wonder how ridiculous some of these guys really are.
The fact is that the forum is used by women in the FSU as a reference point to western men's attitudes.
In this thread---- my guess is that two of the guys that are attempting to ridicule me ( GQ & TT) have never been Zaporozhye  ( Certainly not in a very long time--if at all) and can only post without any first hand observation.
To the OP-- the type of attack being attempted by those two illustrates one of the forum negatives in seeing a thread diverted and eventually lost in space-- or is it an alcohol fumed cloud of nonsensical rubbish?

The dude definitely knows what he's talking about. I just have no idea why he keeps bringing China up into the conversation. Was the OP also thinking of visiting China?

You really do lack in comprehension skills .The OP raised China as an indication of his experience of seeing pollution first hand and for comparison purpose--perhaps you should read the thread before jumping in to make yourself look ridiculous.

BTW--when were you in Zaporozhye? How many times have you been there? For how long?

You're both wrong, JayH is spot on. The OP should listen to him instead. He's the fcoking expert. I believe that's probably the reason why he gets banned from message boards. The dude's a wiz...

You need to get out more-- sitting around getting yourself full before posting your bum boys tripe only makes you look like the dill you are.
Some of your posts make sensible reading-- I presume they were written when you were sober. The alternative is that you too only take you medication intermittently and unfortunately let your keyboard run away with you while your brain has failed to engage. :)

By Western standards, the whole damn country is polluted but the industrial cities present the greatest health risks. Writing that one should not worry about the pollution there because it compares well to China raises being wacked to a higher plateau.

I agree with the first sentence.  But-- you go on and  state something that was NOT said.  ie "it compares well".
My comments were about "visible" pollution-- at no time have I said the statistics are incorrect.

It is typical of how this poster seeks to "set up" his general proposition(s). ie attribute something that was not said. :)

Of course. I'm glad you expected that. That's usually the case when you're just talking out of your butt without a clue what's coming out of it.

So, do you really know the PM10 difference between LA and Zap / Ukraine is, or, you're just blowing smoke out of your butt?
Blowing smoke? I think you cant read thru the smoke haze around you.
If that was the case you would have burnt to the ground long ago.

Anyone else amused by this guy being able to tell me what I have seen? Not exactly rational to try and tell someone else what they can and cannot see. :)

I would not worry at all about it.[The air quality in Zap]

p.s.

Instead of pushing the weirdness envelope by making seven unanswered posts in a row, you could have consolidated them into one or two. Doing so wouldn't have been rocket science. The following was rather prophetic:

And here I was thinking that   Manny has AndrewFi  and now Daveman has Steveboy  to make idiotic irrational posts to generate forum traffic !!

While you are busy trying to establish a forum etiquette that does not exist ( !!!!!! lol) perhaps you would follow one that does--ie--not alter or add add to a supposed quote.  get a few protocols right before you attempt to lecture others--or should I say--offer them to someone who cares about anything you have to say !!
Why did I do it that way?  The idea is to keep it simple so you and your syncopants can get the point being made-- I did not want to confuse you too much.
What is clear here-- you choose not to answer the question of your personal experience of Zaporzhye-- so when were you there?

My experience of Ukraine is limited to one week in Kharkov.  I wouldn't wax lyrical about its fresh air but I don't recall it being that bad either, certainly cities I have been to like Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul had worse air quality. The tap water certainly had an odour and the Lopan River didn't look too healthy but the air wasn't too bad.

That's what you get when you blather crap out of your silly mouth and when you get called out for it, you blather even more crap cause you're too stupid to recognize how silly you look.

Stop digging already...

Exactly how much PM10 does Zap has in comparison to LA? Do you even know? You're the one who was running around with your posting acting as though you know what heck you were talking about when all the while you look nothing more than a silly clown. LOL.

It is even more laughable for many to witness how a moron like you who actually was banned from a board for being a stiff like this, be the one to go around declaring others to be sillier than you. I hope you get to stick around longer than you did in the last forum. We need a *village idiot* like you for a few laughs now and then.

Will you do that for us?  :P

Your ignorance know no bounds--  you repeatedly show everyone what an ignoramus you are.You know nothing-- except what you and your little friend TT feeds you in the background-- you are both pathetic. .

What is worth noting-- GQ & his bum buddy TT  offer nothing in the thread. Typically it is to offer insults and snide comments to others as they seek attention to themselves. What these two bozos want is the thread to be about them!!  You will see thread after thread diverted by the pathetic attacks on others that have nothing to do with the thread-- this thread being a classic example.
I offered an opinion based on my personal experience in the relevant city-- what these two have offered is what? Attacks attempting to denigrate me personally and my "opinion" -- you are both a ridiculous joke.Have a look at how many threads GQ manages to divert to being about him and his inane comments.
Anytime you can quote when you were actually there will be of interest to everyone--I am sure!!

I have no problem with people disagreeing with me on the OP's topic-- but I am equally certain that plenty will agree with me. ;D

Have you missed your medication today or are you simply a few hours drunker that your west coast bum boy?

You have once again sort to evade answering my question-- Have you ever been to Zaporozhye?

Re: Zaporizhzhya - Zaporozhye -Запоріжжя - Запорожье

Let me point out that Zaporozhia or whatever is not the best spelling as it is far from the right pronunciation. I usually spell it as Zaporojye because ZH inside does not stand for Z + H but for something like J or G. Or, better, S in Asia.

....You have once again sort to evade answering my question-- Have you ever been to Zaporozhye?

I was trying to give you an out from looking bad by telling me you have some sense to give us some scientific data to support your idiotic blather. But instead of just addressing what was asked of you, you insist to maintain your silliness by asking *me* if I have been to Zaporozhye as though anyone's anecdotal opinion trumps scientific facts.

I've never been to the moon to *understand* that the moon's gravity is 1.62 m/s2.
I've never been to the summit of Mt Everest to *know* that its atmospheric pressure is 58 kPa.
I've never been to the deepest point of Challenger deep to *know* it is the deepest point on earth measuring at 6.83 miles deep, or, 36,070 feet deep. That's *longer* in depth than the height of the cruising altitude of a 747.
I have never been to Antartica to *know* I would freeze my balls off there if I showed up in my skivies.

I have never been to Zaporozhye to *know* how polluted the air is.

So for you to be asking me, or anyone, if they've been to *anywhere* to understand its basic facts is nothing more than a futile attempt to deflect your stupidity, and only illustrates your serious lack of sense and reasoning.

There are over 150 known chemical substances and metallurgy particles in Zap's air that people breathe everyday. Many of them belonging in the higher classification of dangerous pollutants- lead, chrome, benzopyrene, manganese dioxide, phenol, hydrogen sulfide, nitric oxide, chlorine, flourine, etc...

For a population of 800,000 they suffer almost 4,000 deaths yearly due to oncological diseases. They once attributed the pollution in the area to have chiefly been the cause of more than 40 thousand cancer cases based on a study done in 2010. The metalurgy particles found in its air is just simply deadly.

According to RWD's TOS, we are only supposed to challenge the post and not the poster. I challenged your stupid post and ask you a very simple question, which you so far shown to not have a clue, much less give an answer for. The OP asked a direct question and you offer him up with some ridiculous anecdotal BS 'because you've been there', then further run with it by adding another stupid remark you don't have an idea about. If anyone is doing a disservice here is YOU.

Personal anecdote holds no value against scientific facts. Contrary to the overly moronic anecdotal statements - the sun neither RISES or SETS over the horizon. That had never occurred, not even once. That's a scientific fact. Just as it's a fact when one sends an idiot to do a task, expect idiotic return.

So, as expected, our newly appointed *village idiot* had to once again prove why you so fit the part. Accordingly, I'll respect TOS and NOT outright and loudly call you an idiot and a fool...

I'll just think of it...::::thinking:::::::

I have never been to Zaporozhye to *know* how polluted the air is.

So the answer is NO!!! How hard was that to get too? :)
If you bothered to read what I actually said-- my comments were clearly  restricted to what I HAVE seen-- and I did in fact say that the data would offer a contrary view.
Everything else that you trotted out is irrelevant as you have NOT seen the situation yourself-- so you are relying  and give credence to others anectdotal evidence .
Further than that-- you try and set parameters I was never in dispute with-- it is a very dumb way to try win some argument you were having with your own comprehension.
Pretty funny that you quote the TOS-- your posts are laced with insults and attempts at derogotary remarks -go read what the TOS says about that.

I am very grateful to Daveman to have allowed me to reply to you and TT's illogical irrational  rubbish .

So why not stick to posting your research here in the thread --oh--btw-- the OP had already quoted it prior to your arrival LOL .
It must be past your bedtime by now-- TT will have been put to bed and not allowed to play with his computer any more today by now  !!

LOL. I knew the entire post will just go over your head. What *YOU HAVE SEEN* has no relativity to the facts, nor was it helpful to the OP, nor did it even remotely addressed what is a known state for the area. You say you've been there but yet didn't know what the fcok you're talking about - what the heck do you think that makes you look like?

You really honestly haven't got the clue, don't you?

LOL...take at look at your reply #6 and note the edit time in relation to Jensen's posting of the pollution article - which you obviously read and obviously contradicted your BS...

Your edit said..

...Take note-- I am not disputing what the data collected says-- but it does not accord with my observation or recollection....

LOL. How stupidly moronic is that last grasp to save face, man? I bet you just hate those edit notes with date and time, don't you? LOL. This after you told him on your second post not to worry about it (pollution). And to think *you* have been there (!?!)

JayH, at some point, really, stop digging....  :P    >:D

You obviously do not know WTF you're talking about.

I propose a group trip whereby the OP pays for all of us to travel to Zaporozhye and there we can compile a report for the OP and future new members who have air quality questions. After our journey we can reconvene at our respective PC's in a couple of weeks to publicize our results.  :D

To the original poster if you're still hanging around the forum then you can see, yes see, the air quality here:

You can hear the city's Russian name sung several times in the chorus of the background music in this video: Запорожье "za pa RO zhe." Seriously, learn that and a few phrases and you'll be a hero by the time you arrive.

So now let's turn your attention away from brown air and talk about the good stuff: romance!

Here is a view of a Zaporozhe RAGS wedding. I like that this wedding video shows the groom coming to collect the bride, he is met by relatives who demand that he pay a ransom before proceeding, then when in the home a fake bride is presented (one of his friends apparently) and all this happens prior to him being able to collect his bride and escort her and her family to the wedding palace. At the wedding you can see wedding towels in action and of course I enjoyed that she was not wearing this mysterious "engagement ring" that Western guys seem to think so important. Just wedding bands.

They then proceeded to parks and memorials to lay flowers, take photos and make toasts before finally enjoying a wedding dinner party.

One last try-read what I said-how much clearer could it have been that I was  quoting what I have "seen" with no pretence at quoting data( which btw I indicated it would contrast with my comments) .It was a simple enough proposition that you and your idiotic sidekick  have attempted to make a fedreral case out of.
As for clueless-- that title surely goes to you two pair of clowns who have dug a ridiculous hole for yourselves.

So now--please simply shut up and allow others to post impressions--of the time they were actually there!! :deadhorse:
SLAVA UKRAYINI  ! HEROYAM SLAVA!!!!
Слава Украине! Слава героям слава!Слава Україні! Слава героям!
translated as: Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!!!  is a Ukrainian greeting slogan being used now all over Ukraine to signify support for a free independent Ukraine
