For anyone who wants to try... here are some basic rules I suggest.

1. Do not do this for revenge.
You got your feelings hurt by a scammer ? Learn from it. Get smart and don't think you can actually in any way hurt the scammer. At best you can annoy them.

2. Make sure it is a scammer.
If there is any doubt about the person you are writing to is Fat Yuri, don't try such tricks.

3. Don't expect scammers to be stupid.
Scammers know more about WU than you might think, including all exploits. They do not have to go to the office to see if there is money for them. They do not have to go to the office they tell you to get the money. Read something about the exploits and possibiities of WU before understanding how to play.

4. Make it fun.
The only reason why you should waste time on this is fun. It mostly has no educational value. In most cases you might not make it past the initial money letter.

5. Plan
Before you start, make a plan and stick to it. Think of your moves and the possible replies. Set a goal and try to reach it.

I did my share of playing, and had some fun doing it. At the time I was not searching for women to write, and the scammer case was clear. It was as fun as adopting a Nigerian 419. In both cases there was no reason for revenge, it was just plain and simple fun.

If I had the time, I actually wouldn't mind doing this myself...  perhaps after I find my gal,.. and after law school. :p

I would be interested in reading some stories though, just to take a little of the edge off with this whole process.

here's one,
I met a scammer so I decided to play... after a few e-mails money came to play so I sent her a dollar. The fee was worth it to me. She replied with a letter written in Russian. I do not know what it says, but it looks like she was somewhat upset. I wonder if I can post it here and someone can translate it.

wow..!!  I LoLed.  good stuff.  A friend of mine suggested having phony checks printed with erroneous banking information information on them.  Then writing checks for huge chunks of money.

BC, it depends on where Sling is located. As Dutchman I can write you a check for $1.000.000 today and if it is not covered all you can do is take me to court to prove that I actually have to pay this amount to you. Writing uncovered checks is not a crime here, reason why Dutch companies mostly do not accept payment by cheque.

I don't see too much problem if he 'bounces' his own check, however what he describes is falsifying a financial instrument... probably another bag of worms.

Yuri the Fat (purposely mispell yuri's name)
Yuri's Address (purposely miswrite yuri's address)

sorta defeats the purpost if she(he) doesn't know who sent it and can't send a nastygram back for you to pat yourself on the back with.

A long time ago I heard of a guy who told the girl (Yuri) that he found a better way to send money to her. He sent her some fictious business name and address with a control number to get the money. She couldn't find it. He said he miswrote the address. She couldn't find it again. He said he found another office for this company at a different address, etc. He said it worked for about 4 or 5 times just to run her (Yuri) around the city a bit. Nothing special but maybe a bit of fun for you if you are into it.
