Actually the top 10 list for women would be the same as the only names used for Russian women.

Svetlana
Natalia
Olga
Irina
Ludmila
Marina
Nadezhda
Oksana
Anastasia
Valentina

I have met hundreds of Russian women, but none had any other names than these ten.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.

Not a single Katya? I find this surprising.

Women with those names are restricted to living only in Siberia.

I have not been to Siberia.

Several Tanyas we know in St P.

But they moved residence illegally from Siberia.

They think by using Tanya rather than Tatiana, that they won't be caught and sent back.  It's only a matter of time.

Anyway, guys should be wary of gals named Tatiana or any variation thereof . . . because they don't love you and are only looking to escape.

Lol I know you're joking but for the record, there so many Tatiana's out there it's almost weird - there's even a Tatiana's day for crying out loud. One of my wife's closest friends is called Tatiana which which used to cause confusion until we started calling her T2.

One thing I have always wondered is why do 99% of girls name end with an 'A'?  The only exception I can think of off-hand is Lubov.

It is typical for Slavic. Lubov is NOT exception because Люба is short for Lubov

Because it's the standard ending for female nouns, adjectives, pronouns, etc. ;) - not only in Slavic languages, but in most Indo-European languages as well.

NOTE: I only know enough Russian to get myself in trouble, but here goes....

They also end in Я (ya) which sounds the same at the end. The reason is
because they are feminine forms. Most words have masculine, feminine and
neutral forms. A girls name will naturally have a feminine form.
