If you are insulted by my take on things, that is ok with me!

I've stated my case regarding Egyptian foreign aid, the Iraq Embassy, and our potential involvement in the Ukrainian issues and other military adventures...if anything, your positions have solidified my thoughts on the matters.  Most of the time, what you call a fact I call a bunch of bull.
You SAY you quit the military because they didn't do things the way you wanted them done...whatever, I really don't care or need to know...i'm sure there are two sides to that story anyway.

Even little Fareed Zakaria is chastising Egypt....meanwhile we send them 1 billion more of our tax dollars.

Another rather stupid question and comment…well at least it suits you well!

What a banner day today is...it appears we (the USA) announced we are cutting Thailand off of aid now as well!  Apparently we have been giving them 10.5 million a year.  It appears countries are done with listening to us for merely 10 million....maybe we should try giving them 50-100 million or whatever they demand, so they have more incentive to do exactly what we want.

The reason behind the financial assistance to Egypt was to hold Egypt at bay against Israel. The sum you quote is paltry vs. what it'll cost us in the event Egypt jumped on the bandwagon and attacked Israel.

Just as what we're doing with Thailand or even Pakistan. Since 9/11, billions/year had been allocated/paid to the Pakistani so they can join the effort on the 'War on Terror'

10's of billions dollars being given away to other nations yearly is still questionable when a country like ours is running rather large deficits.  Does it produce benefits to us?  Perhaps to some of the large corporations and those that own the stock....yes.

Like most investments, there aren't always good returns but for the most part, our nation benefits more often than not. Giving aid to other countries and individuals was not invented by America. It happened in the past and will continue to happen throughout history.

During WWI Germany fought a number of nations including Russia. Germany helped Vladimir Lenin get out of Switzerland and gave him 10 million dollars to buy weapons. Lenin met up with like minded people including Stalin to overthrow the government. It worked and Russia pulled out of the war. That was a good investment by Germany. Russia even joined Germany in WWII until Hitler screwed up the alliance.

America helped liberate many countries in Europe and Asia during WWII. Gratitude didn't last long. The Soviet Union funded guys like Mao and Ho Chi Minh to spread Communism. Friends who were grateful to us in Europe and in Asia became our enemies. America learned quick and gave financial aid and arms to our friends to push back enemies of our nation. The world is and will always be a dangerous place. If America only focuses on issues at home, we someday will not have a home. Everybody may befriend and do business with Russia and/or China. If we don't influence a government or it's leader, our enemies will. That's a fact past, present and future presidents will face. Don't look for financial aid to foreign countries to go away anytime soon.

No matter what morals or values as individuals we possess, as a nation we have to act accordingly to the way the world works.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

Well BillyB, you might be making valid points.  There are a lot of nice places to live that aren't "Russia China or the USA" though....I'd be curious to see how much foreign aid countries like Canada, Japan, or Australia are giving. Either way, the point you are making is taken.

Hmmm...I have a hard time believing our 1.5 billion is keeping Egypt from attacking Israel, if that was what they wanted to do....but I suppose it is possible....The fact that Israel has the capacity to do great harm to Egypt probably gives them great pause too....and that might be the result of additional financial aid we have been giving to Israel.    The hypocrisy of it all interests me I guess.  I would be curious if it were me in the office of the president with all the facts laid our before me if I would wind up rolling my eyes and giving the same 'financial aid'...in the name of the 'war on terror'...

While in absolute numbers the USA is ahead, when you look per capita they are somewhere in the middle.
If the USA would raise foreign aid per capita to the Dutch level, they would provide income to the whole continent of Africa.

LOL. Shadow at the risk of calling names, I can't help but label your statement as that of a politician. Had you been an American you'd definitely been a Democrat. Of course per capita a country the size of the Netherlands compared to the US would raise the point you make just as Smallville town of California compared to the golden state.

Did you by chance accounted for the 11+ millions illegals in that 'per capita' accounting?

If we compare population, should Holland be the size of the US there would be 40 million illegals. Let alone 11 million ´grey´ workers due to EU regulations.

Exactly my point. We likely have more illegal immigrants in the US than there are Dutch folks in this entire planet.

 :P

Considering it is estimated Mexico alone reaps billions per year of monies from our illegal aliens sending it back home, methinks that in itself alone would be in the same realm of 'per capita' comparisons with the Netherlands' yes?

Once again, our percentage of illegals is higher as your few Mexicans... as well as our wefare checks are a lot higher.
The amount we lose is by comparison more.

Not just the US has an immigrant problem. Here we have the Moroccans and Turkish (as most Surinams are considered Dutch by now), and if you would go to Moscow you would hear the same stories about the Causasus people as well as those from another country just South of Russia, the name escapes me ;)

Therein lies the fruits of apples and oranges. Speculations and hypothesis abound instead of the absolute. You lose all sorts of factors along your way to speculative data trying to arrive to a hypothetical destination.

For example. Would there be any rational in comparing Haiti's foreign aid assistance to that of the Netherlands even if you formulate some semblance of speculative analysis? Even if you manage anything remotely 'close' to where you feel you need to be, it still means a whole lot of meaningless data.

The US as a nation spend far more on foreign aid assistance than the Netherlands as a nation can ever even begin to dream about. That is as absolute as you're ever going to get.

Foreign aid is used to buy off politicians and rulers of other countries. Foreign aid in the form of loans is used to economically enslave their people. It sounds good at first but it has strings attached.

In that the Dutch are no different. Most foreign aid is accompanied by getting orders for our building industry.
After recent criticism from Saudi Arabia on one of our politicians we got the news today that a Dutch building company has received an ordr for demolition works in Mecca, provided the Dutch crane drivers would convert to Islam.
At a salary of USD 13.000 per month it was easy to convert a few.... for the duration of the job.

LOL. More than likely Custer used the same 'logic' when he glanced upon the approaching Indians in the battle of Little Bighorn...He probably said:" OK troops, per capita, we will win this battle!"

Fact and reality however, dictated otherwise. As it always will.
