Who knows? One thing is for sure. If the Ukraine military has such a difficult time defending this airport, they certainly do not have the ability to take back the rest of the country.

BB-- you can't it both ways-- your are trying to tell us the mighty Russian military machine is so superior  that it forced the Ukrainians out of the airport-- you can see how "successful" they were !!
btw-- experts say that without the Russian military in Ukraine--the Ukrainians would sweep the rest of the riff raff out in 1/2 weeks !!

Your pious advice  is typical of your dated thinking and repetition on every negative on Ukraine you can find-- do you think that baring your arse in the face of the Russians will stop them?Get real  -- my views are conciliatory compared to some of my Ukrainian friends and I emphasise with them. You have no idea( along with many others on the forum) how strongly Ukrainians feel about this Russian invasion and ongoing attempts to destabilise.
Overnight there have been bombings all over Ukraine-- who do you think is responsible?
As for helping people see the light--I have posted link after link of material-- so people can read fro themselves-- you need to read before posting crap. For whatever reason-- you seem intent of regurgitating  a worst case scenario and talking down the efforts of Ukrainian forces in achieving what they have.
It is close to a miracle what they have achieved so far-- only time will tell how they will do in the next phase. No one is denying it is a mammoth task they face -- and help from the west would not only save Ukrainian lives-it could tip the balance in Ukraines favour.
It is not helping Ukraine to keep harping on the negatives  BB-- and you have reported here on the forum some clearly incorrect reports in the last few days alone-that is not helping as time is spent showing you why you are wrong.

Billy, holding onto that facility for such a length of time is an accomplishment of monumental proportions.

If the American army had trouble defending an airport on home turf against a handful of thugs, Americans will be very disappointed. We would not be celebrating in the fashion some here are doing.

The exact opposite of what you say is true: if it has taken this long for a much larger and better equipped force, surrounding the smaller group of Ukrainian defenders who had virtually run out of fuel, medical, food and ammo, then the Russian forces must be very pathetic indeed.

The Ukrainian army is much larger than the rebel force at the airport. If the current Ukrainian force at the airport is outnumbered and not supplied properly, then we must blame the poor leadership of Ukraine's military for not changing the situation into their favor. Again, the Ukrainian army is in no shape to secure their nation if they are having trouble with defending an airport and supplying their troops.
Fund the audits, spread the word and educate people, write your politicians and other elected officials. Stay active in the fight to save our country. Over 220 generals and admirals say we are in a fight for our survival like no other time since 1776.

BB--you really are being foolish-- it is the Russian army at full tilt trying to displace them at the airport. Also involved are some of the hired terrorists.
If you bothered reading links and looking at the videos--it is clear enough that the Russians are using their newest equipment now in the attempt to dislodge. many killed in the last few days were Russian regulars.
Earlier today--I posted some numbers of Russians involved-- not reading links and posts is not helping you.

So really-- do the minimum research before posting crap.

Keep clutching at straws to support your negativity.!!

No photo? Ok, then name.

Anyone for all Russians donating to the rebels in Ukraine, you are truly idiots. Putin started this war to benefit his friends and his ego. He is destroying your country in the process and depleting all your cash reserves to fund it and to try and limit the damage to the ruble and the economy. Every time you pay more for your food and other items it is a direct result of his policies.

This forum is not the best place to address "Russians donating to the rebels in Ukraine"  :) Nevertheless I'll try to explain why your emotional appeal will fail to reach their minds.
First, though in the last years the Russian people acquired the values of a consumer society, still there are other values which are not measured in terms of money.  Russia-Ukraina relations represent for Russians the problem of the same nation divided as result of SU breakup. In this sense Russians view the conflict as the exalted destiny to help their fellow countrymen who suffered under Ukrainian nationalists.
So argument "save your money" sounds absurdly, especially as there are thousands volunteers who are ready to sacriface their lives in the conflict.

Second, this war is going in Ukraine, Russians don't feel any war. Elevated prices for food are pretty usual for people, they get accustomed to permanent inflation during the last 25 years.
At least this time oil prices has dropped, political reasons contribute only a dime.
As for dead Russian soldiers in Ukraine, people also does not see any dead soldiers. Yes, there are losses of Russian army, but probably a few tens men in service, and a few hundreds of volunteers. BTW, when Russia had started Afghanistan war, the society started to feel the pain after a first thousand deads, so Communist party leaders had to decide what information politics must be to cover this aspect.

These sort of statement are ridiculous and the main reason why your credibility on these issues is nil.  If the Russian army was trying'full tilt'  to dislodge a few soldiers from the airport, they would be dislodged...clearly there is more at play then your silly analysis.

Billy, first off, if you have any idea of all at who is fighting for the rebels, that "handful of thugs" are the very troops that you in other posts laud as being so fearsome and substantial. The Ukrainians are not fighting "rebels" any longer. When they were, the Ukrainians were taking back territory. The balance of power was changed by the insertion of regulars from across the border.

Home turf? Not exactly these days. There is much blame to go around for the Ukrainian Army to be sure, but one has to lay that blame at the feet of a pro-Russian president who was ousted. The army today is improving and becoming less corrupt and more professional--they are getting "on the job training" as this war wears on.

Of course Ukrainians must be disappointed. Instead of building up his military, the former president was too busy minting gold coins with his likeness on them, having a private champagne developed (again with his likeness on the label), putting a tall wooden ship in his private pond, and housing a large collection of antique cars at his private and gated home. Where is he now? Right, the guys next door rescued his sorry arse.

Recent improvement however does not mean that the home team is ready to defend their country against the much larger and more modern military of a neighboring force.

Ukrainian people dont want to do war, they are quiet, they only want to have a better life without mafia and with democraty. I live in Ukraine, I write the truth.
Ukraine and Russia are countries with very bad hospitals, very dangerous roads, people have a short life, most of the cars, the bus, the trucks are big dangers.
Today in Russia they cannot buy fruits and vegetables with all vitamines. Poutin decided this.
Babies and oldest will have soon big problems with health.
Kremlin create in Russia crazy people who think that all Ukraine is nazi. There are sites where they speak, for example smotri.com, who understand russian will see that I say the truth. Always speaking about ukrainian nazis and girls who are all prostitute.
This is russian democraty, only based on propaganda against Ukraine.
I am french, neutral, but I read every day news from official sites from Russia, and they always write that they want peace in Ukraine, that never was russian army. People in Russia believe in this because they cannot read other news.
In Ukraine, government says every day how many soldiers and civils died. In Russia, they never speak about soldiers died in Ukraine. They only say that ukrainian killed x civils from russian origin.
You must know this: before Maidan, never were problems in Donbass between russian and ukrainian people, never, they were living in full peace. It is Russia who create all problems with monster propaganda and organization to create a revolution in Donbass.
Poutin have lost Ukraine, the country that gave food and science to SSSR.
Now he wants to destroy this country because I think his mind is not normal, someting same as skizo.

That tells me that you are influenced, negatively, by the propaganda of your government.  No one is, or was, suffering in Ukraine because of Ukrainian nationalists.  No Russian was ever denied the ability to speak Russian.  Russian media was freely available to anyone who wanted it.
After the fall of communism, the biggest mistake Boris Yeltsin's regime made was not to disband the KGB altogether. Instead it changed its name to the FSB and, to many observers, morphed into a gangster organisation, eventually headed by master criminal Vladimir Putin. - Gerard Batten

Doll, you were speaking about Rostov and Kuban, Krasnodar.
You must remember this.
In 1926 when Staline created SSSR, 76%  were speaking ukrainian in Rostov, and 56% and Krasnodar.
These people were not russian. Also, in Crimea, they were speaking mostly ukrainian.
Putin wanted to take Crimea, ok, but he must give to Ukraine all Rostov and territories from Azov to Caucase that were ukrainian.
Da, Sotchi was ukrainian.

Other thing about south of Ukraine and in Russia, starting from Donbass going to Ural and Aral sea.
All this was during 2.000 years jewish country and capital in Crimea.
What can say Russia about this?
Crimea cannot be russian, it is or jewish or ukrainian, or both.
You will see the future.

Doll, sure I know Sotchi, it is on black sea, and they were ukrainian speaking when Staline created federations and took these lands from Ukraine, so Russia can have access to sea without ice during winter.
Doll, I know rather well history about Russia, and Ukraine.
