You plays with words now, OK, let's say not suffering but formulate as  Russian community in Ukraine becomes tired of Ukraine. Corruption, misery, state failures became  assosiated with Ukrainian national idea, and Ukrainian national idea became associated with power of oligarchs. I state not my conclusion but transmit what Ukrainian and former Ukrainian citizens are writing in social networks.

The fact that 80-plus percent of Russians are likely to continue to support Putin won’t mean that 80-plus percent are happy with life in Putin’s crumbling realm.

Armies always eat the best food before the civilians get food.  You of all people should know this.  No doubt Putin is not only putting tanks and other weapons into Lugansk and Donetsk, he's also sending them plenty of food.

I would suggest you take a few minutes to stop pecking away more propaganda (yeah, it's propaganda you're writing here, and it's just as bad as the pro-Russian propaganda) and read your own link which you just wrote on a different thread.  Here let me help you out -- I will bold the pertinent parts.  You've been talking out of both sides of your mouth.  Try to be more measured and consistent in your analysis.

No, the post to which I responded was about the map.  The territory did look like that.  It does not mean it was ever part of the Ukrainian SSR.  At that time, none of the Western part of Ukraine noted in the map was part of the Ukrainian SSR either.  I repeat (for the third time):  The territory was determined by the Ukrainian delegation to the 1919 Peace Conference in Paris.  They wanted to establish an independent Ukraine, and proposed its borders based on ethnic population distributions.
