Indian men with money pay for an excellent education for their kids. I worked with many Indians, and they all write/speak nearly perfect English...

Once in an airport in Moscow, I met a girl that was returning home from her vacation in India. She was under a cultural shock. Reportedly, it was the worst vacation in her life. She felt in danger each time she left her place of residence. She had to use taxi all the time.

India is something else.  It seemed to be a very sexually repressed country.  You got groups of guys walking up and down the beach taking pictures of foreign women in bathing suits.  I pissed off a few by jumping into pictures they were trying to take of my ex.  haha 


You got guys trying to be your friends and then making offers to your girl behind your back.  I scared the crap out of one guy who will think twice before doing such things.   


It isn't a safe place for a single woman, imo. 


I could have been an extra in a Bollywood film.  I just didn't want to waste a whole day and was afraid once they saw my dancing skills they wouldn't let me leave until I featured. 


Anyway, as for the OP, there will be a small set of women that would be interested in Indian culture/Indian men.  They still would want someone who was educated and successful enough to take care of a family.

I feel a sorry for this your frend experience. India very safe most time. Sometime has negative in press on bad things happening to girls but we give good jail and hanging for this men.

No apologies needed: I believe, it was an honest mistake.
And you were not alone. 
I have been working all my life in Computer Science, and it probably influenced the way I am thinking and expressing myself - way too logical and rather less emotional than is usually ascribed to women.
Anyway, if you are real and really looking for a blond Russian girl, my advice will be - read the trip reports here, and you will get a fairly good idea of what to expect and how to prepare for an actual meeting.
