Chinese Troops on Russia's borders

I think this is a good idea.

Let China cozy up to Russia and its vast land area and resources that stretch over to China.  Let China get a foothold, and then a large step and then even larger steps.

China will eventually control all of current RF up to the Ural mountains anyway, some day.  The more partnership agreements China can strike with Russia in the near term, just means they can accelerate their takeover of current Russian territory.

Let's see now, how big will an only-European Russia be, and what resources will it have?

This seems like you dreaming up scenarios, but I really don't care very much either way.  China and Russia are friendly towards each other now, in part to act as a counterweight against the USA which has been attempting to control the world through war/finances.  If eventually one takes land from the other, I'd be surprised if they got away with it, simply because they are both highly nuclear powered and they can do something about it.  There are a lot easier targets than Russia or China.
