As far as RW and US holidays, they will adapt to any holiday that may involve a party or a gift. Halloween is becoming a very popular holiday in Eastern Europe.

Ah, good. Perhaps some of those little Moscow kids could spend a few hours terrorizing Putin come Oct. 31st.

With the help of a Russian friend (who translated the message) and Vertual Cards.....I sent a Mothers day card to my Russian counter part. Ah yes with music!

We are about the same age, and was she suprised to finally get a card she didn't have to have tranlated!

She immediatly sent it to Irina to show it off!

Any idea  how long it took to get a phone call? Not long....

Now for most of the fifty + years we have been married small notes, candies and momentoes have shown up in odd places and pockets....Some have waited for months and even years to be found!

As my grandbaby grew the same happened for her....One day she told she knew how things got hid...

You and Grandpa put stuff differant places for me to find!  Once she spent days hunting a handfull of pennies in the side yard! We are the only ones that does this in her life...

Small things, but they are never forgotten, and in many ways more important than the expected.

There are many ways to say "I LOVE YOU" .....be creative!

May those that love us, love us.
And those that don't love us,May God turn their hearts.
And if He doesn't turn their hearts,May He turn their ankles,
So we will know them by their limping.

God put your arm about my shoulder... and your hand over my MOUTH!

Excellent ideas. The idea of placing something to be found later remined me of the time that I gave little peewee junior an autographed photo of Steve Young...a former NFL quaterback and a cousin of his. I wrote a fairly lengthy message to him on the back of the framed picture and placed in on the wall. He of course is very proud of his photo, and his heritage, but 10 years have pasted and as far as I know he has yet to discover the message on the back of that photo. I suppose one when his dad moves on and finally does discover the message he might smile and recall the times that we had. Got me about that  but sometimes I do  hide the note and now that you have reminded me about it I'll remember to do that when I meet Lena this coming August.

Excellent Post Mamma D! This is probably one of the most important and meaningful things you can do. No matter what holidays you decide to participate in, or where you live, or anything else that you do in your relationship. If you keep remembering the little things you will keep the love fresh and alive.

Mamma D, it is great to know your marriage has lasted all these years. My parents married in 1948 but their marriage only lasted 15 years. Being raised Catholic it was very unusual to experience divorce in the 1960's. The church, in those days, frowned upon it. Both of my parents remarried and their second marriages lasted 30+ years, until their spouses passed away. I got along well with my step parents.
