How I Became Interested in RW

I've been married 10 years to a RW. But it was scams that got me interested. I don't remember the free dating sites though.

I was on a free U.S. site and got a response from a RW. Her picture was beautiful. We exchanged emails through the site for about a week when all of a sudden she (he) said she could not afford the site anymore. I responded that I could help and subsequently received a Western Union account. I thought to myself, I'm not sending money to someone I've never met or talked to. I responded with "I don't think you're the same person in the photo". That conversation was dead.

So, I began to research RW some and decided I'm interested. On the same site, I contacted a beautiful lady in Russia. We exchanged emails through the site for a week and I began to think the letters were form letters. My questions were answered at the beginning and the end. I began to say some of the most ridiculous things and continued to receive good responses. I decided to do some more research and I found the exact letters I was receiving from both ladies (men) on the scam web site.

I then decided to do a pay site. That site pooled many RW sites into one. That site doesn't exist today. I think it was bluesapphires.net. Well, I found my wife on that site. I'm not familiar with the sites available today but I would go for a pay site.

Don't send money for anything
Meet in her city and have an early exit plan. (i.e. standing by for earlier flights  -know the flight schedules for departing flights)
Don't send money afterwards either. My wife hasn't asked for money since I met her (over 10 years ago)

IIRC you proposed to your wife during the first week you met her.  You are not the first to do that.  How long was your correspondence period?  Was it a WOVO trip?  How well did she speak English?  Ten years ago there was no Skype, so did you have many telephone conversations?

You have good questions with respect to OWW. I didn't bring that subject up here. Iv'e described that process many, many times in the past. Perhaps start a thread on that subject and I will elaborate.

I started out going to Russia.......just to see it. My friend had a RW girlfriend.....so I was slightly aware of the RW/A scene. But everytime I searched for some travel info. on google.....up came an RW related dating sight. Slowly over the course of a winter....before the trip the following summer....I added the possibility of meeting a few RW.......as part my travel experience.
