When someone tells me, OH you got a mail order bride, I go YUP.
I ordered her out of magazine and the put her in envelope
and mailed her over. I then say thank God it was perforated
so she could breath :D

Awesome reply. If people want to be derogatory just hit them up with sarcasm. Usually if they persist I state the facts of our relationship, like we have a child together, she got her green card 1.5 years ago, we're planning to have a second child and she's hotter the majority of American girls her age. Jealous much?

In answer to original topic - I have never had anyone ask me about a foreign marriage. But I could tell from a few faces that they wondered but were too polite to ask. I imagine there was some gossip but by now everyone who knows her understands.

Normally it's just jealous AW that don't like us marrying FSUW. I just tell them I had to go this route because all that was left were women like you in the U.S.

Some years ago, long before I began my FSUW search, I was having lunch with an AW. We had met on Match.com and were discussing how meeting on dating sites was common and accepted now. A friend of mine was in the midst of a FSUW search and filled me in on some of the details. I mentioned to the AW that a friend of mine was using a website designed for international matches. She immediately got a weird look in her eyes and after a few seconds said, "You say it's some friend, but how do I know it's not YOU?" She was pretty worked up and hectored me for some time in this vein. I never called her again.

It is important when sending for a MOB, the she is small.
Postage on those envelopes can be a killer.
Lucky for me, wife only weighed 50kgs.
That equaled 287 stamps.

So when explaining this to local women, be honest and say
you can't afford the postage of local women due to size:)

My 34 year old son was asking me this a year ago. He couldn't understand why I ventured so far from American shores to find the woman of my preference. Six months later his AW wife had an affair and left him. He now dates an immigrant Bulgarian and claims he is finished with AW's.
