Russian or Ukrainians?
« on: February 12, 2015, 01:28:29 AM »
Hi There.

My name is Aiden. I live in US, but currently traveling in Australia. Amazingly, I've already met a few people here to successfully married their Russian brides. Most of them had to go to Russia and marry them there, then do the visa thing and bring them back to Australia. I guess I'll have to do the same thing too.

I've made some contacts with girls in Russia and in Ukraine. Funny thing I have to remember who I'm talking to - because of the political situation there, girls can get upset if you defend one country or the other.

I hope to get some tips on this forum. I also want to share a story how I nearly got burned. I was about to send some $ to Russia, only find out that the person I was talking to was fake and she (or he?) nearly took me for a ride.

Thanks y'all.
A

To be honest, I speak with girls in both countries, the ones in Russia know of conflict we acknowledge it but RARELY speak of it. It is more sharing our lives to each other. I do know they say they 'cannot' visit Kiev!!!!!!!

Hi Aiden,

As a Lviv, Ukraine resident, engaged to a wonderful Ukrainian woman, who is involuntarily displaced from her Luhansk home by invading muscovite hordes, I say go for a freedom-loving Ukrainian woman, not some muscovite, Putin-worshipping, brainwashed female zombie from the muscovite empire.

Do we really need to give those Putinists women more breeding opportunities?  :wallbash:

Green Aiden,

 :welcome:

I wish you success in meeting FSUW.  Pay more attention to the merits of the woman and your feelings rather than where she is from.

I suggest you avoid discussing politics with UW or RW.

You can discuss politics with Ukrainian women.  You just better agree with them.

Good luck.  I choose Ukraine and I am very happy with my choice.  A friend of mine choose a Russian that he met in the US (shudders)

Firstly, sort your own feelings out on the invasion and what your position is.

This way you won't put stress on yourself trying to reconcile a discussion with a women on one side of the situation or the other with your own beliefs. In other words trying to see her point of view if contradictory to your own wont assist you with this particular subject, it goes to the bone. edit to add: It'll be you're with me or against me kinda thing. No middle ground.

Trying to have a relationship with a women who herself or family/friends might consider you the enemy I'd suggest would be doomed from the outset.

My other suggestion would be to be up front with your position at the onset of any contact. Maybe not the first thing you bring up but in the top ten so as to not waste your time or hers.

As mentioned this issue goes to the bone. You won't change her mind if it's contrary to yours and you wont be able to skirt the issue either, so keep that in mind. Love does not conquer all.

As there are plenty members here who are actually embroiled in this issue real time with relationships , I'll leave it to them to offer further advise.

Why not Australia?

I've noticed a disproportionate amount of Australians go overseas for a woman. It is a curiosity.

Nope, it's a lack of babes.

A disproportionally high percentage of Aussie women have visible tattoos.

Tatts on a woman just doesn't do it for me...  :wallbash:

The OP states he lives in the US and is currently traveling in Australia. He's not stated he's a citizen or native to either country.

I've noticed a disproportionate amount of Australians go overseas for a woman. It is a curiosity.

Nope, it's a lack of babes.

Australia is not disproportionately lacking babes. It's the fact the Sheilas can kill crocs or white sharks with their bare hands and drink Australian men under the table that puts them off. :P

Bollocks!  It's the same as here, or the USA or Canada - a miniscule percentage.

Nope, it's a lack of babes.

Nope, the babes are there, but...

A disproportionally high percentage of Aussie women have visible tattoos.

Tatts on a woman just doesn't do it for me...  :wallbash:

Same for me.  Call me old-fashioned, but tattoos belong on criminal gang members or, as moko, on our Maori elders.

Australia is not disproportionately lacking babes. It's the fact the Sheilas can kill crocs or white sharks with their bare hands and drink Australian men under the table that puts them off. :P

That's far more likely.  Luckily we don't have crocs here (although we do have visits from Great White sharks).

Russian or Ukrainians? Easy answer. Who do you sympathize with? Trying to get involved with a woman that has different political views can be hazardous to your relationship. You two will be hating each other compared to respecting each other if you share the same views.

Russian media (propaganda) has been demonizing the west for many years and it may have a real bearing on them.

UA still has a lot of wonderful ladies.

Find a good match for yourself in as many respects as you can.  Whichever country she is from isn't nearly as important.

It's the same problem with AW now.  Very big turnoff, and I wonder if she was drunk or high when she ruined her looks with ugly ink.  It's considered "hip" in the West, but just wait until the fad finally turns and
all these women are rushing to get them removed at a very high cost.

Regardless if you choose Russians or Ukrainians be sure to find a woman that is not desparate to leave her country.
Forget about current politics, they can change next week.

Quite easy.

Just think if you would like to be married to a person whose people will be the pariahs of the world for the next 10-20 years at least.
A beautiful woman is pleasant to look at, but it is easier to live with a pleasant acting one.
