Putin's Way sure smelled a lot like western propaganda. Much of it smacked of conspiracy theories, weak circumstantial evidence, hearsay, and the use of dissidents, who may have an ax to grind, to support western arguments. I've lived in Moscow for the past 11 years. I've witnessed much of what's presented in the programme, and I've also witnessed what's been left out of the programme. The issue with the programme is that there is no context provided, and facts are grossly distorted. First things first. It's true that there is an issue with corruption in Russia, and there are some human rights abuses. But to put this into context, corruption still exists widely in the West. The US banking sector alone has been fined well over $25 Bln since 2009 for illicit lending practices. In the US, basic civil rights weren't written into law for nearly 200 years. I could go on and on, but back to Russia and the Putin expose. 1) the filmmakers interviewed a handful of self-admittedly corrupt mini-garchs, who've allegedly been forced to flee the country. No exploration into the backgrounds of these people, potential criminal corruption that they themselves were engaged in, nothing. The programme simply found a few people willing to spin the same, tired corruption story, and they fed them questions they knew would generate the answers they wanted. It would be similar to interviewing Ken Lay, Michael Milken and Dominique Strauss Kahn and indicting

I love Russia.  Always have.  If you have ever been taken into a Russian home and treated as one of the family, you'd know exactly what I mean.  I am greatly saddened by the current turn of events, but nothing will ever trump the love that I have for the Russian people.

The UN seat is an historic mistake.  Lots of countries have nukes, or the power to make them.  It doesn't make them superpowers.


How many Nobel prizes have Russians won in sciences in the past two decades (5)?  How much of their academic life is recognized throughout the world?  What is the life expectancy?  Live birth rate?

That's correct. However much many here try to make this all about Putin, what he does, is for Russia. In a word, one might even call him a populist politician. How can it not be about Russia when he has a 85% approval rating. No western leader come close to that number.

Second rate compared to the US, yes. But if Washington takes the conflict in Russia's backyard, they will lose. Remember Vietnam, Afganistan etc.

Nobody presented evidence like nobody presented it to you.
Just to make it more clear (I doubt AM board member are capable to understand it)- it is my Motherland, I am not selling it (no way), Putin being it's President who stands for his country. In this situation al these "terrible crimes" (not proven- Vova is not an idiot))) don't count when Russia is facing hardships.
